Surprisingly Awesome ~ Great Camera & Even Better Support

I bought this Ebitcam 4G LTE Cellular Security Camera for a remote property that doesn’t have WiFi, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much but I have been really impressed!Setup was smoother than I expected, and the fact that it came with both a memory card and SIM card was a huge plus. I popped in the SIM, followed the instructions, and was up and running pretty quickly. The solar panel keeps it powered just fine, even in partly cloudy weather. The 2K video is clear, the 360° live view is super handy, and the color night vision is better than any other camera I’ve used in this price range. It’s perfect for monitoring driveways, gates, or barns where running power and internet isn’t an option. What really sets this apart, though, is the customer support. I had a few setup questions and was honestly expecting the usual robotic replies. But I got a real person named Deer who was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. They basically held my hand while I embarrassingly fumbled through learning the app, and even followed up to make sure everything was working properly. They care, and didn't make me feel stupid while I learned. That kind of service is rare these days.If you need a no-WiFi outdoor camera with solid features and actual customer support behind it, this is the one to get.Big thanks again to Deer and the Ebitcam team!

Ebitcam 4G LTE Cellular Security Camera - Easy to set up, easy to install, easy to connect.

The media could not be loaded. I needed a camera on my sailboat that sits on a mooring in the middle of the bay, 1/4 mile away from the dock with no WiFi. So I did some research and decided to try this camera and it works perfect! Easy to read instructions were included, but make sure you do follow set up directions exactly as described for a fast set up. But there's also a couple great YouTube videos of how to set this specific camera up.After deciding where to install this, I would say it took me less than 20 minutes to mount, connect, and set up on my phone. And that was me going slowly to make sure I did everything correctly. This also includes a solar panel that keeps my camera fully charged, which was great not having to wire it into my boat battery. The cord for the solar panel to the camera is also quite long in case you need to set up the solar panel somewhere where it can get the most sun the longest and then the camera pretty much wherever. So far it has survived some windy and rainy days as well as the hot and humid summer Florida weather. Just make sure all the rubber port seals are firmly in place and this should be water tight. I'm also glad that it's white so that it doesn't absorb any heat.Everything you need to get it up and running the same day is in the box. The camera, solar panel, 32G SD card, and best of all the SIM card (with 300M of free trial, which came out to a month for me). Connecting the camera to your phone is super simple. The UBox app makes it easy to connect and control the camera from pretty much anywhere your phone has a signal.I'm currently in Texas on a trip and I can monitor my boat sitting in Florida with no problems. It has great night vision but also has a spot light on the camera that you can turn on and off from your phone. This has virtually 360 degree vision capabilities by controlling the camera left, right, up, or down from my phone. I can even adjust the speed at which the camera turns. There's also a good zoom function but in addition you can zoom even more on the screen with your fingers. I usually just keep it on SD (standard definition) to save on MB when I look through the camera to check things out. Then if I need to zoom into something or take a closer look I'll switch it to HD (high def) and the picture gets clearer, but now you're using more MB as you stay on the camera.I don't really stay on it long enough to use up all my MB for the month. There are different subscription prices and lengths to choose from. I personally just go month to month until I get on my boat for an extended period of time and then just discontinue the subscription since I don't need it while on the boat. And then just pay per month when I need the camera remotely again.Prices aren't that bad either, it's $13/mo right now, and of course it gets cheaper if you sign up for a longer contract like 6 mo or a year. Also, this has a motion detection mode that I don't use because my boat moves all the time and triggers the alarm on my app. You can also listen and talk through the camera. It's basically like having a controllable Ring camera without needing WiFi. I'm really glad this thing exists! Definitely recommend.

Really good customer service.

Excellent product. Really good customer service. Had an issue with one of the cameras. I messaged them through the app. And a lady called Deer helped me out. Answered her questions and she was very nice an helpful. She even called me on the phone to help me with my issue. They ended telling me that they would send a new camera. Top notch customer service. I would highly recommend this camera.

Works well for the price, but could use some improvements.

I have ordered 3 of these cameras and have been using them for over a month. They were nicely packaged. I had a little bit of difficulty getting the first camera connected with the SIM card, but once I figured out the first one, the others were much easier. I installed the SIM card that came with the camera (default card) in one setup and T-Mobile SIM cards in the other two cameras. The default SIM card and a T-Mobile SIM card were used in an area with poor cellular signal due to nearby mountains. Both SIM cards only had one bar of signal. The default SIM card seemed to perform slightly better than the T-Mobile SIM card in this poor signal area, but not by much. I think it was due to the fact that the default SIM card alternates between T-Mobile, Verizon and one other provider to find the best signal in the area. The other camera with the T-Mobile SIM was installed in a good signal area and performed significantly better. By performance, I mean signal loss which interfered with the ability to interact with the camera. In the poor signal area, with the default card and T-Mobile card, we have intermittent signal interruptions when trying to control the camera and playback stored video. The interruptions are worse if more than one person is trying to access the camera at the same time, when trying to use HD resolution, when trying to play back a video stored on the SD card and when there is bad weather. Regardless of the poor cellular signal, that does not stop the camera from operating properly, triggering when intended and recording video. The main difficulties are when you try to interact with the camera remotely and the signal is bad. In the good signal area, there are no troubles with interacting with the camera.T-Mobile does offer the option to get a free signal booster in poor signal areas, which I imagine would probably help. But we are unable to use it right now because the property does not have Internet or power which is needed for the signal booster. It has SD and HD resolution settings. In the poor signal areas, trying to view in HD live or play back pre-recorded HD causes more data interruption. The SD version is quite blurry and I really don't like it. But I use it in the poor signal areas for best performance. HD resolution is quite clear and I like it much better. We use HD in the good signal area. The default card comes with a free trial of their cloud storage. That is nice, but an added expense I did not want to continue to pay for. The app is created to prioritize the cloud service. So when you first enter the app, it always shows you the cloud storage instead of your SD card storage and you have to switch every time. I find that a little annoying. Downloading video and images from their cloud is fast, regardless of camera signal quality. Downloading from the SD card is slower overall. In poor signal areas, downloading and playback from the SD card is almost impossible.Because this is a cellular service, there is a delay in data transfer, regardless of signal quality. Most notably when trying to use the two way audio feature and have a conversation with someone. The delay is long enough to make conversations awkward and sometimes the person walks away before they realize you are talking to them. Poor signal makes it far worse. The main camera settings also have a delay in loading because of the cellular delay. An initial default set of options will load immediately, but you have to wait for the rest of the settings to fully load before you can access them. If someone did not know about this delay, it could be confusing. You might not know you had to wait and exit the app prematurely. Many priority settings are in the delayed options, including the arming function. They should have a disclaimer there so people know to wait. Poor signal causes longer delays in loading settings.Sometimes a poor signal will cause things to not work or load at all in the app. I find that trying again will eventually get me what I need. Or if the weather is bad, try again later. This is not ideal, of course. Especially if you have an immediate need to see what is happening there. But I still find comfort in knowing that the camera is still working and recording as needed, it is just the connection to the app that is the problem. The solar panel seems to charge well for all 3 cameras. They are always fully charged at night. They receive sun for at least half the day. I use infrared at night and 30 second recording bursts. The night vision works very well. Motion triggering also works well. Do not install these on a tree or anything that sways in the wind or you will have to turn motion triggering off. They are too sensitive for that. Distance vision is pretty good. Camera panning is also very nice, with the option to control the speed of panning. There is a delay in panning though because it is a cellular signal. The two-way audio has good sound. The alarm is very loud. The flood lights are quite bright and impressive for being so small. The solar panel has a pretty good range of swivel motion to get the best sun exposure and the cord is fairly long. There have been some occasions where rain got on the lens of one camera (mounted out in the open) and I could not see anything until the next day. The two cameras that are mounted under the roof overhang do not have this problem. The app has a camera sharing feature, so other people can also access the camera view. You can adjust their access level permissions. I like that. The app tells you how many people are actively viewing the camera in the app. But again, the more viewers, the slower it seems to respond.Pricing for their default SIM was comparable to what I am paying for my T-Mobile line on my business account ($15 with auto-pay turned on). Cloud storage is a separate cost. I chose to stay with T-Mobile because they gave me a free line when I added two. So 3 lines for $30.You can use larger SD cards. I am using 128GB. Although I wonder if a larger SD card may increase delays in the cellular data transfer (I have not tested this). I just know in computer terms, the larger the storage, the longer it takes the device to read it.I like that the company also seems to make efforts to make their product better. At least, from what I have read in older comments. New features were added over time for things that customers asked for. I have not had to use customer service, so I cannot comment on that.Despite the issues I mentioned, I plan to buy another one or two cameras for another property. I suspect that the cellular signal issues and data delays are probably a problem that is universal with all cameras that use cellular data. So I doubt those issues would be resolved with a different manufacturer. Key improvements I would like to see are those that make the app easier to use in the areas I mentioned.
