Beauty berry in place of double white gardenia peony.
The plant I ordered was a double white peony. It was purchased on June 20th of 2023. I planted the root as directed. It came up I took care of it through the winter. In the spring of 2024 blooms came on the bush. It did not look like a peony bloom. I have never own a peony the descriptions said that it was a hardy plant so I choose it. It was beautiful in the picture. I asked a plant finder what it was. It said it was a beauty berry. Little purple flowers then berries are beginning to form. I have been taking care of this plant that you can find all over the woods they are all in my fence line I have to remove every year. At least I know the proper name for the invasive bush I have. I was looking forward all year to seeing a peony. I have never seen one. It might have been a mistake. I sure hope they make it right. 29.95 is a lot for something that is growing wild.

Not what I expected
I received a bare root. It had no planting instructions. I don’t even know if it’s a Iive plant. I planted it and so far no growth. Just have a pot with dirt, it’s been 3 to 4 weeks….

The root arrived well-packaged, but....
I followed the planting directions meticulously, but the plant never emerged from the soil. I received a red one from a different company about a week later, same directions for planting. It is doing beautifully, so I think I got a bad root for this white one.

Died in ground before ever sprouting for spring
I was excited to buy this peony as it appeared to be beautiful, but the root died in the ground over the winter before ever growing, despite being planted exactly the way the directions required.

Mold
Unfortunately, the gardenia white double peony root that I ordered came a tad soggy and covered in mold. Also, with zero eyes. It was unusable 😕

Didn’t grow purchased two
I’m an experienced gardener with 40 plus years, but these peonies haven’t come up.
