HiSET Secrets Study Guide: HiSET Test Review for the High School Equivalency Test

Per many of their other materials, Mometrix has developed an excellent and well-priced HSE study tool. I'm very please and strongly recommend it.

I bought this book mainly for students to prepare for the HiSet math test. The reviews were very good so when it arrived, I was shocked to see there were no pretests and no real step-by-step teaching or practice materials. The review materials seem highly condensed and may be excellent for a student who was once proficient and just needs a refresher. But it's hard to see how this book would benefit a struggling student with significant gaps in their skills, since there is no step-by-step presentation of mathematical procedures, followed by exercises to drive the new skills home. It's wonderful that it includes full-length practice tests for each area, but, speaking just of the math, if I kid got stuck on a problem in the practice exam, I don't think he could find the help he needed to solve the problem in the body of the text. As other reviewers have noted, it is VERY text heavy (though the writing is high quality and packed with information) with few illustrations to lighten things up. On the other hand, I am just starting to use the book in the classroom, and that will be a better test of its usefulness. If it turns out to be a winner with the students, hopefully I will say so. One noteworthy feature is that the book comes with access to many videos which can be viewed on the Mometrix website. You could not ask for easier videos to get to, just two simple steps.

I purchased this book, along with another well known HiSet book and found that I often used the other book, because it seemed easier to follow. That meaning, the other book seemed to have easier questions.I purchased this book after already passing 4 of the 5 battery of tests. All I had left was math, my worst subject. I wanted a book that had practice tests, and this one did.Today I went to take my final exam. I felt that the questions in this book were much more real to the actual test questions. I have been out of school for 30 years, so this was not an easy task for me. I ended up passing and will be receiving my diploma soon!If you are torn between which HiSet book to purchase,I would suggest this one. The math questions are harder, much like the actual test.

they are very helpful to me as a parent of a homeschooled 16-year-old. We are preparing for my son to get his high school diploma. My use of your products is to make sure that I have covered everything that should have been taught throughout the homeschool journey. Your products will make for an easy transition from high school to college or any other school my son wishes to focus on. Thanks for making these items easy to use and understand.

This awesome book is packed with tons of pointers, advice, and strategies to get a good grade on the time of my test. I like how easy it is to understand the material and so easy to apply .. Its very straight foward anybody can benefit from this book .. And last what really got me was the "secret keys and the review videos"

Sorry, this review is coming a bit late. This but is the reason why I got a 75 on my test score. What was required to pass the test was 45 and I scored way above the pass mark. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

I really love this book I use it all the time its very good for any hiset takers, it has a lot of details and it covers a lot of subjects, I had a science test last week and I passed because of this book its really my favorite I love how in the reading chapter its just covers anything and have all explanation needed . I gave my teacher the same book and he really loved it!!

At first , I thought it was too much writing, but I see that it cuts straight to the point , which is what I like. I have not gotten to the math section, which is my weakest subject, so I'm hoping the explanation in math is easy to understand.
