Looking for bulbs that are super bright, have a white point close to that of actual daylight, and have decently accurate color rendering? This is it!First, they're bright. 1600 lumens is usually the upper limit of typical light bulbs you find at a store. I definitely recommend using these with some sort of diffusion, such as a lamp shade or filter, as they do not have any diffusion of their own (clear class instead of frosted). You do not want to have a direct line of sight with them.Most bulbs claiming to have a 5000k daylight white point simply have a boosted blue rendering, with very inaccurate rendering otherwise, but these actually look pretty close to true 5000k daylight, which appears slightly greener than typical 5000k bulbs. This is a great thing in my book, but if you like the artificial blue tint of typical 5000k bulbs (which does have its charm), these aren't for you. White point aside, as far as pure color rendering goes, I honestly can only tell an ever-so-slight difference between these and typical 80 CRI LEDs, but I'm not sure if I have a keen eye for that to be honest.I recorded a slo-mo of these lights in 240hz to observe the flicker intensity of these bulbs, and it is one of the mildest I've ever seen (a good thing). I only use them without a dimmer, so YMMV. I turned on one of these bulbs in one corner of the room, a regular (not ultra definition) philips non-dimmable bulb in another corner, a great value (walmart brand) non-dimmabe bulb in another corner, and a shop light in the last corner. I then recorded a slo-mo in 240hz and turned to focus on each one. The shop light flickered so intensely, the camera's auto-exposure was going haywire. The great value bulb also flickered pretty intensely, but not as bad. The normal philips bulb flickered much less, about have as much. Finally, this bulb flickered slightly less than the normal philips, the least of all of them. (They're all 1600 lumens. I swapped the bulbs in the lamps and repeated the process and the results were the same.)I can't install reccessed can lighting in my room, so I put these in floor lamps to illuminate my home work space, and they do the job wonderfully.

Bought 2 packs (4 bulbs total.)Love them.“No flickering” was important to me, and sure enough, these do not flicker. All of the cheap LEDs with the energy efficiency rebates have suffered from very annoying flickering, indoors and outdoors.One of the bulbs failed within the warranty period, and Philips replaced it, hassle free.

Super bright classy look. I'm using it in an outdoor wall lamp fixture to light up my parking area for night work like trash and snow removal. I love it.

These lights do better with dimming and more extreme temperature changes. They have better circuit boards making them more reliable. You get what you pay for when it comes to lights like this. It's cheaper to pay for good ones once.

These are the worst. You will be lucky to get 13.7 days use much less the 13.7 years listed. Bought 24 bulbs and at least 8 have failed within a couple months. Doesn't matter if they are in dimmable or non-dimmable fixtures. These suck!!! You will regret purchasing these.

This lightbulb is indeed easy on the eyes. It has an unusually high CRI (color rendering index) of 95, making things in the room that is being lighted appear more realistic looking in terms of their color. I wanted to give 4 and 3/4 stars, but there is no such option. I would omly give 5 stars for a light bulb that has a CRI of 100.

I was looking for some brighter LED bulbs for the front of my house. I had some previous bulbs that had a lower Lumen output. So I picked these because they were much higher lumens. Boy, did I pick the right bulbs if I was looking for brightness as these are quite blinding. For me this is not a bad thing it is what I was looking for. These have been operating for a couple of months now and we will see what their longevity is over time.

The back of the box for these (“Phillips 573667”) bulbs says they are not for enclosed or recessed luminaries. If you want a 1600 lumen LED I would suggest getting the “Phillips 576330” instead, which is 1600 lumens but is designed (according to back of its box) to be able to be used in enclosures or recessed light fixtures. And it is also dimmable.The above sums it up pretty well but if you want more details I wrote a little more about the two bulbs below.I bought this because I thought this Phillips Ultra Definition 1600 lumens LED would be brighter than my Phillips 800 lumens full color wi-if LED (model 9290023833A) but surprisingly not really. Looking at the light cast on the floor and in the room from the hanging kitchen light fixture was about the same; the only noticeable difference is that if I looked at this clear bulb straight on vs the frosted one, well this one was more blinding. It does however work with the dimmer and doesn’t buzz or flicker but I will still be returning it because I prefer the quality of the light the other bulb produces and as I said this one didn’t even seem significantly brighter.UPDATE:I bought box of Phillips 100W equivalent 5 way LEDs and set the color to 2700K and they are exactly what I was looking for; they are designed so that can be used in luminary enclosures (says so on back of box) or recessed luminaries so I was able to use two of these under glass of ceiling fixture. I measured temp with glass fully seated and was cooler than halogen or compact fluorescents. The light was nice and bright and looks nice. No flickr and dimmer compatible.The only con is that if the bulbs are uncovered and you are less than a foot away you can hear a slight buzz sound but since these were under glass on the ceiling I couldn’t hear anything when standing underneath.
