If you are having an issue and think your camera is BRICKED READ MY POST!
I wanted to share my experience with everyone because I found nothing on the internet about this but it is clearly a thing. I have bought 10 of these cameras and I could not figure out why 5 of them were all doing the EXACT same thing right out of the box. Little did I know, its probably a software bug and I just didn't do the same thing when I activated the other 5 cameras. Here is what my problem was... After I purchased the camera plan while adding the camera,**** I chose the option to have Photo+Video.**** I then turned the camera on for the first time as the directions said. The camer boots, connects and then takes a software/firmware update. The camera then reboots and connects. The app even shows it checked in perfectly fine. The next thing that happens is the camer goes into useable mode and when it sees movement turns the video on. The IFR lights come on and the green light comes on like its taking a video. The problem is, the video camera never stops and it never uploads the video. It doesnt matter how many times you turn it off and back on, it just continues to happen until the batteries are dead which is very fast considering the camera is permanently on. After a bunch of trial and error i discovered what snaps the camera out of it. 1. Turn Camera off. 2. Go into the camera settings on the app. 3. Change the setting to Photo only. NOT PHOTO+VIDEO 4. Turn camera back on. 5. Do something in front of the camera and wait for it to show up on the gallery in the app. 6. At this point once you have gotten your first photo upload, you can switch it back to PHOTO+VIDEO and BOOM....it works. This solution fixed all 5 of my cameras that I thought were not uploading or bricked. Moultrie, Please research this and share this information with your customers. There is a lot of people saying they had bricked cameras and I bet this is why! Overall, the camera is amazing for its price. I got 6 cameras for the price of 1 of the newer fancy ones. They take great pictures. You just have to request the HD picture or video. They do make a click sound in the dark but i have never once seen an animal spook from it. 5 stars!!!

Awesome first trail cam
I purchased 4 of the moultrie edge and 4 of three 10w solar panels to monitor my hunting grounds before deer season starts. I've never used a trail cam before mainly because it would be at least a 3 hours round trip for me to get memory cards/pictures. These cell trail cams are perfect. I have learned a ton about what's in my woods and where and when deer are moving. I love simply refreshing the app and seeing any new pics. Even more fun when I am refreshing every couple minutes watching deer at that very moment. I'm also excited for when hunting season starts and I can monitor deer moving around me on the property. How cool is that? LIVE ACTION! So far everything has worked flawlessly for me. I've enjoyed these so much I purchased 2 more yesterday. I definitely recommend them!

Amazing New Camera
I've had multiple Moultrie cameras all over the country for years, however all of those are the Delta models. I have no previous experience with any other brand so take this how you will. This new camera battery life is FAR superior to the DELTA models. I have an active trail system and pictures are taken often. Normally I would need to swap out batteries every 4 - 6 weeks. The new EVO camera has been active for 4 months and still has 17% battery remaining. Even with that said swapping the batteries is super easy with the new slide out battery tray. Another wonderful update is the no SD card. In the past I had multiple cards go bad or for some reason wasn't compatible with the camera. Moultrie has fixed that by eliminated the need for an additional expense of an SD card. The new camera also has a button on it to test the camera. This sounds simple but being able to check the angle of the camera is so much nicer than getting down from the ladder dancing in front of it to get it to triggering. I also like the new antenna that folds into the side of the camera for easy storage. I don't know if they increased the ability of the antenna but I am able to put a camera down in the holler now where the DELTA camera wouldn't get a signal. Last thing I will mention is their customer service. I had one of my cameras go bad, I honestly think it was the cheap batteries I put in it. I called Moultrie customer service and they walked me through trouble shooting it. When nothing worked they emailed me a return slip and sent me a new camera. So nice to talk to a real person and get real service. Oh last thing to mention, I am always nervous about people stealing my cameras. When I don't get a picture in a few days I tend to get worried. The new cameras have the option to take a test photo once a day. Such an anxiety reducer.

Excellent overall, but a couple gripes.
Much praise, just a couple complaints. First, the cameras are solid, well built, and easy to use. Pictures and videos are excellent quality. I was concerned about battery life, but was pleased with how long they lasted. Only had one issue and that was when I put one in a spot with weak cell signal. I believe it used more battery than normal trying to send videos. When I moved it to a new spot, the batteries lasted weeks and weeks. Second, the app is easy and intuitive. Overall a polished experience. For such a niche product I expected more bugs and UI issues. So Overall, I'm very happy. Ran 2 of these this last season, will be running 6 next season. Here's my two issues, neither of which are a deal breaker: 1. I think animals can see or hear it at night. Not sure if it is emitting visible light or a sound, but I have multiple videos of deer and coyotes stopping dead in their tracks at night and staring right into the camera. Sometimes it's an animal that had walked by it in the daytime without this behavior. This isn't a problem for me because I'm not using them to target a specific animal in my hunting spot during the season. I'm just trying to pattern their movements before the season. My second complaint is the pricing structure of the mobile plan. The per camera minimum is effectively $10 a month for the most basic plan with 10 videos (unless you buy an annual plan, but people like me don't need these cameras year round). The "Unlimited plan" is $35 with 50 videos, and $8 for each additional camera. So If I run 6 cameras on the basic plan, I'm out $60. If I do the same thing on Unlimited, I'm out 75. Now if I stick to basic, I can buy 50 extra videos PER CAMERA for $1 per camera. So I'm at $66 for 6 cameras getting 60 videos each, vs $75 for 6 cameras only getting 50 videos each. So it's no discount at all. And in my experience, I will not necessarily download 10 videos per month on each camera. You can usually see what set off the camera in the thumbnail, and only choose to download and pay for the the most interesting videos. So Moultrie, please reward loyal customers who are buying many multiples of your product with a real volume discount that makes sense. Having done a lot of research, talked to a lot of people, and used two of these for a full season, I'm very happy with them. It is very exciting to wake up every morning and see what I got that night and check it again after work and see what's been moving around all day.

Reliable So Far
I got these on sale for a great price. I think around $80. It’s my first set of Moultrie and only have Tactacam to compare too. Overall they’ve been working very well. If I have a complaint, it’s that I’d like them to offer a more affordable monthly plan option. Tactacam cameras cost more up front but they offer $5/month plan which I appreciate. Other than that, I have no real complaints. They run well and batteries seem to last

Poor detection
I wanted to really like these cameras. Good price point, affordable plans for multiple cameras, etc. However the performance of these cameras are disappointing to say the least. The app and set up of the cameras is fast and easy, can’t complain there. Seems to connect much easier than my older Moultrie cell cam model. However, the problem lies with the detection capabilities. I bought 10 of these cameras to replace most of my standard SD card cameras and transition to primarily cell cams to avoid having to travel to multiple farms and climb hills every couple weeks, etc. the first couple weeks I loved these cameras. Like I mentioned, all of them connected and was sending pictures, what’s not to like? However, it wasn’t until I was hunting one morning and watched a couple does walk by my camera and realized later that day I never received a picture. I thought it might have been a fluke so over the next few days, I purposely walked in front of my cameras getting in and out of my stands. To my amazement, they rarely caught me walking in front of them, like literally maybe 30-40% of the time would I get a picture sent. Not only that, but had a few more deer walk in front of my cameras while hunting at some of my stands and didn’t get a picture. I’ve now realized (after unfortunately buying 10 of these) that these cameras simply do not detect everything that walks in front of them. With being nearly fully reliant on the intel trail cameras provide, I feel as though these cameras really hurt my hunting this season, as I truly don’t know how many deer these cameras could’ve missed between 10 cameras at various locations. I can’t recommend another brand of cell cam as opposed to Moultrie, as they’re the only brand I’ve tried, but I am very disappointed in these cameras and will look to sell these to start fresh with another brand, or stick to the tried-and-true SD cameras next season.
