This item really serves me in a new way. I originally purchased a similar item that was just an AC power source for my R50 & R8 canon cameras and really liked it. My new purchase now gives me a backup to the original and more importantly an external battery capability when needed! Unfortunately, my current batteries don't provide the necessary output to work, so I'm still in the process of purchasing one that works.

Got tired of swapping batteries while shooting stationary video. This thing has solved my problem!

These are awesome. Canon R8 picks them up as native batteries. Works great. Love the LED to show when the unit is powered. Great if you are working on leads during a photo shoot to see that the unit has power. Fantastic that you can plug it into other USB power supplies also.
