Great for small skins of yarn...
Got this to help me with keeping multiple balls of yarn contained for one project and this little two spindle skien holder works great. I am able to put four small skeins of yarn on it to be able to work two projects at the same time. It took me less than five minutes to put together and was easy to put together as well. I really do enjoy the look of the light colored wood stain. Look that it has and definitely feel that it is worth the money to help me keep contained multiple small skeins of yarn.

Use it all the time
Has a very sleek look. Made pulling yarn while crocheting so much easier. So easy to use and the quality helps it function

Really nice!
The assembly is super easy. The reason why each spindle spins around is because they are not sitting securely in the base. This is generally fine, but if you tip over the unit they will come off and you'll have to put it back in the seated position again. Not a problem to me but it did cost them a star in my rating. I haven't tried it yet, but I seriously doubt that it would fit two super or jumbo skeins of yarn. To me, the reason for having this is so that when I can't easily find the center pull of a new skein, I can just pop it on this. Majority of the time, this will work nicely. But if I'm working with some of those jumbo size skeins, I would have to rewind the skein into a ball that would fit. I suppose that is fine too, but if I have to rewind the skein, my winder creates the center pull strand . . . so it makes this yarn holder rather useless. I like having options though and I know that I will put this to use because some of the brands of yarn that I've bought doesn't come with a nicely marked center pull strand. I know I have this in my stash for just such occasions. I would still recommend it because I've seen the negative points on the other styles as well. I picked this one because I could do two skeins at once and I don't have to fuss over what direction it's facing to keep it from banging against itself. I'm very happy with it.

Perfect for thicker yarns
It works perfectly for my needs. It can fit 2 large yarns on it with room for them to spin. If the colors get tangled up just lift them off the base and unwind.

Works great if there wasn't a defect!
The media could not be loaded. This would work great, except one of my spinners has the metal rod at an angle so it won't spin at all (metal rod goes into a hole in the base). I know it is an issue with the one spindle because the other spindle works perfectly in both parts of the base. I would love just a replacement for the one spinner, I don't want to return the whole thing because that feels wasteful. If I can get a replacement piece, this would get five stars easily and I would probably buy more in the future.

Dual Skein - Sturdy & Easy to use at great price
The media could not be loaded. Lightweight, but seems really sturdy. Has NOT fallen over for me. Used with both finger & bulky weight yarns. Seems to work either way if pulling yarn from middle or outside yarn of skein. Easy set up, works great, awesome price! I love it!Update 04.12.2925: After purchasing the dual holder that I liked so much, I decided to also buy the 'single' skein holder. I do NOT like this SINGLE holder as well ... it falls over easily. I recommend the "Dual Skein" holder.

Received incomplete, unusable item
Title says it all. This was a Christmas gift that wasn’t taken out of the package until recently. The item is missing the 88mm base that is key to assembly. Pictured here is everything I received when opening the box.

This has made my knitting life ever so much easier
This item has saved a lot of hassle and made my knitting go faster because I don't spend half my time chasing after the errant ball/skein of wool when trying to liberate enough to work with as I go. While it's true that one spindle doesn't sit quite straight up (slightly angled), it nonetheless does the job. The base is heavy enough that pulling on the wool (on the spindle) doesn't pull it over, and the little pads underneath help both against slippage and against damage to vulnerable surfaces (like wooden tables).
