Q: What happens if it starts to rain?

That's a legitimate question. There is no solid cover like a standard gas grill, only a mesh cover but that cannot be used the entire time due to potential burning and it won't prevent rain from hitting your food. If you don't have a covered porch or other safe place to put this outdoors during rain you probably can't use it. Hopefully it won't rain on Thanksgiving this year!

Q: Typically how long to cook a 10 - 16 lb turkey ???

I cooked a 16 lb turkey for Thanksgiving and it was perfectly cooked in 2 1/2 hrs. I absolutely love this cooker. Tri-tip and ribs turned out great!

Q: Why doesn’t the better basket come with the cooker? char broil is nickle and diming us to get the needed accessories. makes me not want to buy it.

The cooker does come with the basket that can be used for turkey, chicken, roasts, etc. The other accessories are for more specialty items (such as wings or ribs), which some people may not want to cook. Why increase the price to include all accessories, when many people don't even want them. The price of the cooker (when we bought it) was (in our opinion), very reasonable.

Q: What is the difference between the old model and this new model other than $11 more?

The main difference is the design of the outer body and the inclusion of a meat thermometer with this new Big Easy.
