My new favourite scotch
What can I say. I guess I am an Islay peat monster fan. I love ardbeg and I love lagavulin. This... This is like a salted caramel islay malt. Difficult to explain. There is the typical Islay smokiness/peatiness. There is also sweetness from the bourbon barrel.Anyway. I highly recommend this.I have also tried the sherry cask version. This is waaay nicer

Buy it
This is so good that I went out and bought another straight away (Sherry Cask). If you care about age statement or Single Malt then don't bother, but if you care about a quality peaty dram that is not common then this is just the job.

Very Smooth with Spice Filled Aftertaste
I'm not a whiskey drinker, but my husband and father-in-law are. However, even though I am more of a wine or cocktail person, I decided to at least sample this one, just out of curiosity. When I tasted it I thought it had an almost medicinal flavor, with an herbal spice aftertaste. I found it to be very smooth, more so than our normal whiskey choices. At least, it didn't leave me as breathless as other whiskey does.My husband thought it had a nice strength, and tasted best chilled and smooth. He normally mixes with Diet Coke, but drank this one with ice and/or water.Very nice gift for whiskey drinkers, and is sure to impress.

Elements of Islay Blended Malt Whiskey - That Much for a Blend? Suppose So
I’m not a whiskey expert but just know what I like to drink when having a whiskey.Nothing that feels like it’s burning your throat for one.. something with a nice aftertaste and one that makes me want to say… That’s so good would really appreciate another of it if snuggling up in for a cold winter evening. This one seems to have everything going for it in all the right directions. Apart from its a bit of steep price. The bottle is quite just ordinary nothing to point it out and being anything different at all.More plain and simple bit like the colouring of the whiskey itself. It’s a blend not a single malt but if it were then might be a totally different price league again. So yes a blend that’s rather good and if wanting to try out various blends maybe a good starting point. Seeing as though there are different types of how its made as to if it’s Smokey, more dry aged or whatever. As I say not a whiskey expert at all but just really appreciating this one neat with ice. What I think is with anything like spirits and such that you need to try a mini of it to see if it really is your taste or not. Many a time I’ve bought some drinks spirit wise and they have been wonderful for myself but husband not so much.Think that’s the thing with whiskey everyone’s tastes are different so yes you’ve got to try it first if not we’ll fifty pounds spent and maybe not enjoyed. Put it one way it’s an awful expensive cup of tea or hot toddy if not liked drank neat.

Simply delicious
Very smooth lots of balanced flavours and despite being 46% ABV you can't taste the strength. Malt and grain blend bottled direct from the barrel. The perfect whisky for a Rob Roy/Manhattan cocktail. Not a big whiskey drinking, but this one of fantastic

Blended for good flavour
A very nice sipping whisky with a hint of smoke. Described as aged in sherry & bourbon casks to give this distinct smokiness.I bit stronger than normal UK spirits which are often 37.5% ABV (alcohol by volume) this Isle of Islay is 46% ABV but despite it being a bit stronger it is not at all harsh. No caramel colouring and blended to provide a consistent flavour.

Boutique blend
My father tried this as I'm not much of a connoisseur of neat spirits. He was quite impressed; it's apparently a very pleasant blended malt which is good neat with some ice. It's smooth, despite being a little stronger than average, and really does have smoky, fruity overtones. It's a little pricey, but would consequently make a good gift in terms of cost and quality. Even the "apothecary"-style bottle would make a nice object d'art when it's empty. Consequently, it's easy to recommend. If you're a scotch drinker, this is definitely worth a test run.
