Great budget grow light--fantastic really--we'll see how long it lasts!
Saw these lights when they popped up on a prime day sale last week (october 11th) Never heard of FARMLITE before, but the price was real nice, and the specs were promising. I purchased two of these 240W FARMLITE fixtures for my 2.5x5x7 tent. Here are my thoughts:1️⃣How do they fit in a 2x2/2x4 tent? Two of these lights would absolutely push the limits of a 2x4 tent. One might even be overkill for a 2x2. They are, in my opinion, "just right" for my 2.5x5 tent, and they MIGHT even be powerful enough to flower in as big as a 3x6 space. MAYBE.2️⃣How are the specs? At 100% power, hanging 16" (This originally said 26", I just noticed my typo a year later, OOPS.) over the canopy, the Photone app was registering 45.6 DLI in the center below each fixture. This is more than enough for autoflowering plants. At 75% power, I have them hanging 12" over the canopy, and registering 42.9 DLI in the center below each fixture. This is also more than enough for autoflowering plants.3️⃣Do they run hot?I have 3 cheap $15 6" clip fans in my tent--one is pointed at the drivers from the corner bar of the tent, and both drivers are only just warm to the touch after hours of running. The light bars themselves are also just warm to the touch. Tent temps at canopy sitting comfortably at 73F, while temps outside the tent in my basement are 68F. I imagine running them at 100% all the time would jump it maybe to 76-78F in the tent. Totally reasonable temperature ranges.4️⃣Are they hard to put together? Not at all. They don't come with an instruction manual, just a little fold out pamphlet with light information and a "what this light comes with" page. It even comes with a screwdriver. Screw all 4 light bars into the 2 fixture bars, screw the fixture bars into the driver base, plug the light bars in, hang the lights, plug the drivers in. You're good to grow.5️⃣Are the components quality?Yes. The diodes look like genuine samsung diodes to me, size is right, look is right. If they're fakes, they're damn accurate ones. The drivers are high quality from a reputable company--Can't say i'm familiar with them, but googling turns them up, feel free to check them out for yourself! The light was easily put together, held with just 10 screws and its solid!6️⃣But what about the PPFD?I grow mainly in autos, so PPFD is irrelevant to me. But for the sake of this review, I measured with Photone on my phone, a note 9, and at 12" over canopy, center of the light, 75% power; it's registering about 706PPFD. From what my enthusiast grower discord buddies tell me, this is great for autoflowers, and just right for photoperiod plants. At full power, these will provide more than enough light for flowering photos.7️⃣Conclusion of reviewAt the time of writing this review, these lights are 149.99 USD. That is a good deal for the quality and light output of these lights, even if the diodes are older models. I purchased them during a prime day sale for $108USD a piece. That is an absolute steal. If you see these lights on sale and in stock--nab these suckers. You won't regret the purchase, they aren't a junk no-name low quality light. These are solid, high quality grow lights.8️⃣Final thoughtsMaybe in the future, we'll get an upgraded model and all they'll change are the diodes, and it would be an amazing budget light.. Hint hint, FARMLITE. ;) That would be amazing, and make these lights even better than they already are. I've had them in my tent for all of 5 hours as I write this review, so I'll update if anything catastrophic happens.9️⃣October 28, 2023--1 year operational use update: Added a few new pictures to show what I've grown beneath these lights. I am currently in my 4th grow using the two 240w FARMLITE fixtures i purchased just 1 year and 10 days ago. I cannot stress to potential buyers enough: these really are fantastic lights for their price point.🔟Final Final Thoughts: I have taken to recommending pretty much just FARMLITE lights when people ask me about grow lights. They are affordable and powerful and perfect for new growers who want to get into the indoor growing hobby. Now i'm telling you to give these a try, I doubt you'll be disappointed.Tent and Light pairing recommendations:2ftx2ft, 2ftx3ft: One 240w2ftx4ft, 2.5ftx5ft: Two 240w3ftx6ft: Two 240w OR one 320w4ftx8ft: Two, preferably Three 320w

Plants are happy
Updated July 5, 2025:, plants love the light. Runs cool 18 hours a day. Only thing I don't like about it is the short ass cord. Might buy another one if I could find aftermarket cord that's long enough

It’s bright!
After watching this light for a bit I decided to give it a try when it had a good price and I have no regrets. The first one I received was clearly used, missing pieces, was just loose in a box, and so I contacted Amazon. They quickly sent a new one and had the other one picked up at my house which was very nice. When I received the new one it was obviously new, with the parts neatly packed, wrapped in plastic and it even came with a screw driver to put it together. I’ve now had this light for almost a year and it has run for 18 hours a day every day since with no issues. It doesn’t run hot at all no matter how high I go. My plants love it. It’s actually a really strong light and I’ve kept it at 75% most of the time. I love that it has a free flowing dimmer, it was easy to put together, it’s actually pretty large (240w) and I want to get another one day. According to my readings on my light meter it’s great on par and I’m able to reach the DLI I need. I can’t think of anything negative about the light honestly as it works for me. I have 2 other brands which are good as well but I haven’t really tested them separately. I’d say overall they are pretty comparable but the price on this one is better especially for what you get so if I had a choice I’d have 2 of these in my big tent.
