Genuine part that works with ALL XBox One controllers.
Apology:Let me get this bit out of the way first - I originally believed that the device shipped to me was a cheap Chinese knockoff and not a genuine Microsoft Adapter.I gave a bad rating to the seller for my error that thankfully Amazon has struck off the seller's rating.I can only apologise profoundly for the stress this may have caused the seller. The controller adapter comes in a small baggie devoid of any documentation. This is what originally caused my concerns.I missed the explanation for this in the device listing.Having spoke to both Amazon and the seller, I am 100% certain this is a genuine device.Review:As it turns out, you do not need any documentation.Just plug it into your Windows 10/11 computer, and the drivers are automatically loaded for the adapter.(You may need to be connected to the Internet to get the latest version of the driver)Use the pairing buttons on the controller and the adapter (located top END of adapter) to link the devices. And that's it.It works flawlessly with ALL of my XBox One controllers - from the from the first XBox One controllers to the latest versions. This includes the Elite1 and Elite2 controllers. The range is at least 8 metres and supports multiple controllers at the same time. Also comes with a 1 metre extension cable.Buy with confidence, and Happy Gaming.

Genuine Xbox Wireless Adapter
Excellent product, works perfectly and it IS a genuine Microsoft Wireless Adapter.Windows being Windows there are installation issues now that have nothing to do with the seller or the product. The drivers do not auto install on Windows 11 and 10 has had issues as well so here’s what you need to do…Go to Settings and onto the Windows Update page.Click on Optional Updates and there is the option to install the driver for the Xbox Wireless Adapter. (You may need to plug the Adapter in first and click check for updates before the driver appears in the optional updates list)After it’s installed, press and hold the button on the end of the Adapter and a little white light will flash.Hold the Pairing button on your Controller and you’re good to go.To turn off the controller just hold the Controller power button for 10s and it will turn off.

Arrived with no extension cable
Works fine and of course did specify that there was no retail packaging which is ok, but it does state it should come with an extension cable with it did not, not quite false advertising but if there is a reason others seem to get this and I did not after paying the same price then this is a slight issue

Works on Windows 7
I purchased this adapter in order to use my Xbox One Controller with my Windows 7 PC after the USB connection started malfunctioning. Yes, I'm aware that it's sold as a Windows 10 adapter however it is in fact possible to use on Windows 7.The adapter arrived early the day after ordering (Amazon Prime) and was well packaged. The box contained the adapter, an extension lead and a ton of paperwork that you'll never look at. I plugged the adapter into the extension lead which in turn I connected to my PC via a USB 2.0 slot. My Xbox One controller has already been connected to my PC via USB so all the drivers for it were installed. Windows found the drivers for the adapter automatically and downloaded within seconds. I turned the sync on on the adapter and turned on my controller and pressed the sync button on that. After a few moments, they both linked up.Now, at first, even though "everything was working", the controller wasn't actually doing anything. I tested this both in-game and via Xpadder using a desktop profile I'd previously made. After much trial and error, I managed to get the controller working (I had to track down some extra files/drivers and force them to install.) I can now continue to use my favorite Xbox One Controller with Windows 7 thanks to this adapter.Word of caution to anyone thinking of doing as I have: Ensure you purchase this adapter and not the new adapter. This one is much longer than the new one but is the only one of the two which is compatible with Windows 7.

Good
It's great for connecting your Xbox pad to your pc if you're transitioning over. The product doesn't come in the original packaging because Microsoft no longer make these. The product is still brand new it just comes out of a pad and adapter set. Works perfectly and connects effortlessly. No input lag or delays and is really worth the money.

Flawed - bought two and both lose connection.
My first one lasted a few months before it failed. Seems to be a high failure rate with this model. The device would randomly refuse to connect and when going into device manager the adapter would have a warning sign on it. You had to unplug it and plug it back in to fix it.Later my pad started losing connection but this was a prelude to the unit failing entirety and not an issue with a general weak connection.I bought a new one and am still having issues. Each time I want to use it I have to unplug it and plug it back in again. Exactly the same as I experienced on the first unit and that lots of other reviewers are reporting. It does it on two PC's and none of my other USB devices have an issue. This has been out a number of months and given that my new model has the same issue, they clearly haven't fixed the problem in later production batches.Sadly there is no alternative product. Stick with the old 360 pad/adapter until MS work out how to solve the problem.EDIT: Ok over a year later I purchased a third one! I thought maybe third time lucky......Well as it happens I was lucky! This new one seems to be working just fine. Have they fixed a problem with the hardware or improved the drivers/support within Windows 10? I have no idea. All I know is that this one now connects solidly every time. No errors in device manager etc. My PC is identical to how it was the first time as I've only upgraded the GPU since then. Same motherboard/USB sockets and same joypad.
