This is really good stuff. It’s very firm in the jar but softens quickly in your hands and feels somewhere between a stiff paste and a wax. It works very easily into hair and sets almost instantly with a firm hold. The finish is strong and matte, and allows you to build height and thickness with ease. You can also restyle through the day without really losing much of the original hold or finish. It washes out very easily - I just use standard H&S shampoo, and Baxter clay pomade doesn’t leave hair feeling greasy or sticky after you wash it. The jar is very heavy and feels premium - I’m glad it glass from an environmental POV, but it does add weight to your travel luggage etc. Overall I’m really pleased with the product. It’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for and one jar will last months.

I almost never review anything, but because of how good this product is I thought it thoroughly deserved one. I also want to ensure it never goes out of business because I don't know how I could replace it. First of all it is so easy to use, it holds my hair in place which is really strong, but you can also re-adjust it if needed if your hair gets moved at any point. I only need to use a tiny amount when applying to give it a good strong hold. This means a relatively small sized jar lasts a very long time and you get great value for money. Also after applying to your hair, it gives a really natural look, there's no bad shine or smells or anything from it Absolutely brilliant product

I have straight thick hair and this product is recommend for my hair type and hair style I go for. Hold - It's decent, not the best by far. It will not keep my hair in place all day, but you can readjust so not too bad. Smell - smells awful in pots, cannot tell on hair so no issues. Finish - matte, very matte - hair never looks wet with this. Use - tough to get out, need to dig it out, but application after warming in hands is easy, washes off hands super easy too. But sometimes my fringe when pushed back can separate meaning I have to mess around with it to make sure it doesn't stick up. Overall it's a decent product, but I feel it's a little pricey compared to others. But It will defiantly be a go to for me

If you're a cheapskate like me, you'll have wasted a small fortune buying off-the-shelf supermarket hair products, thinking it's cheaper to settle for lots of lame products. I decided to get this after many 5-star reviews, and it's honestly the best. I have a quiff sort of haircut, and this is somehow a really high hold AND matt and natural looking. I use sea salt spray on wet hair, blow dry and style with this on my dry hair. You'll never use anything else, trust me.... also, don't need much AT ALL, so it'll last a while (I admit I haven't finished one yet so I can't say for sure) Also, few comments on the smell... it's an aniseed smell, like sambuca, which is an aquired taste but I like it. It's not nearly strong enough that you'd notice it once it's on your head.

This is far the worse product ever. Your hair becomes so dry it looks unhealthy. The hold is absolute rubbish can't even last 2 hours plus applying a small amount isn't enough. I have medium long hair and apply 2-3 diamond size in to my hands and it makes my hair look sleazy like someone from the 60s look. When you try to restyle it your hands get sticky it's disgusting. Washing of this product is shocking I have to shampoo and condition my hair twice as it's hard to wash off and I still can feel product left in my hair, if you just wash it off with water it just going to build up in your hair and damage it. The price is expensive for the poor quality it should be under £5. If you don't care about your hair and just have rubbish hair then buy this. Everytime a hair product is on YouTube you should avoid buying it as they get paid to advertise it. Lesson learnt time to bin this clay.

This is likely the only Amazon review I'll ever write, so if nothing else that should prove the quality of this product. Every other product I've tried in an attempt to save money since using this feels like an enormous downgrade. Yes it might cost that bit more, but it is the best hair product I have ever used, it lasts a long time and you really don't need much. Best for short-medium length hair (and mine is not easily shaped). It works out to be maybe £1 a week for confidence knowing your hair looks the best it possibly could, and remains in place. Let's face it, you'd waste that £1 on something pointless anyway, might as well invest it in yourself.

Great product that goes into the hair without any tugging. Just make sure to use a small amount because it gets greasy if you use just a tad too much.

Me gusta mucho este producto. Hay que utilizar poquísima cantidad. Da una fijación media con un acabado mate y ligeramente satinado. Puesto que se utiliza tan poca cantidad y el producto es bastante denso y compactado, esto me va a durar más de un año seguro. Además el olor no es fuerte. Tiene un olor neutro aunque ligeramente aromático. Muy sutil y nada invasivo. Para ponerse el producto hay que coger muy poca cantidad con un dedo (como medio guisante) y frotarlo con las manos hasta que se calienten. A partir de ahí se va aplicando en el cabello desde atrás hacia adelante (para no poner producto en exceso en la parte frontal). Si es necesario se puede ir aplicando algo más de producto en una nueva capa. Pero para el mejor acabado, no recomiendo aplicarlo todo a la vez. Una cosa más! Si es la primera vez que utilizas un producto de este tipo, practica en casa hasta conseguir el acabado que deseas. A mí al principio me pasó que estaba aplicando demasiada cantidad de producto!

Produit reçu très rapidement, dans un emballage soigné, comme d'habitude pour Amazon. Mes cheveux deviennent gras très rapidement avec d'autre cire, j'utilisais principalement du gel auparavant. J'ai choisi la Baxter Of California, en suivant les différents avis sur internet. Je n'ai à ce jour pas finis la moitié du pot, la tenu est impeccable, mes cheveux ne sont pas gras,et la cire sent bon. Un très bon produit que je recommande chaudement.

The hair doesn’t shine, it just looks smooth and healthy. It’s true that applying the product can be very difficult. It’s very firm and thick. You need to warm it up well beforehand. You can take a SMALL (!) amount into your hand and simply warm it up using a hairdryer ;) And don’t put it in wet hair. I have very thick, medium to long hair. The hairstyle lasts all day. You can also easily restyle it with your fingers during the day, no problem. And yes, it washes out easily with shampoo. No problem at all.
