KitchenCraft Silicone Pastry / Basting Brush, 17 cm (6.5") - Black / Blue

Why did it take me so long to go silicone? Idiocy on my part. Encountered these on a cookery course in a college. They are strong, durable and easily cleaned, I heartily recommend.

Really handy and tough little brush.

Great little brush that can be kept clean and sterile. I would have liked the brush to have been a bit stiffer for what I wanted to use it for but it’s probably ideal for basting etc.

This is a handy little item which is an absolute must have for my kitchen. It’s ergonomically pleasant to use, and the silicone bristles are very easy to clean. Brushing oil or butter is easy and the bristles are very sturdy hence have not had any issues with them breaking off or falling out.

Bought this specifically for brushing melted chocolate into moulds having found it impossible to clean off the old fashioned bristle brush. Does the job. I would imagine that it works perfectly well for glazing but it may hold more, so an initial practice might be a good idea :)

I already have a couple of cheap silicon brushes but wanted a round one. I actually only ordered this late afternoon and received it 1st class next day. So although there is a delivery charge this is still really good value and is definitely better quality than the cheaper ones. Very impressed. This was actually despatched within a couple of hours of ordering. KitchenCraft items are usually good anyway and the seller (The Cookshop) were so efficient as well.

Much easier to clean and accordingly more hygenic than a traditional pastry brush. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it picks up the liquid you're using it to apply.My only complaint is the price. Over £5 seems excessive for a simple item like this. It appears than third party vendors sell them on here for £2.75 from time to time. This seems like a much fairer price. I would happily have awarded five stars had I paid this price.

What can I say? It's a basting brush!I can confirm that it is indeed brush like with a handle and bristles and it does allow you to brush or baste! I'll re review in a year if it's still going but the signs look promising. Well priced! Buy one today for all your basting needs.
