Q: how do you mix the indigo ? only with water??

Hi, I mix with warm water not too hot and apply straight away. If you let it sit as the instructions says it doesn't work for me. I get fabulous results since I've started doing this. I also apply indigo powder the next day after I'd done my henna powder for best results.

Bullet Points First: Always use boiling hot water for paste Always use natural henna/indigo/cassia on towel dry hair NEVER use any natural powder on dry hair it wont work. Make sure your paste is always covered with a shower cap to keep it moist at all times Indigo powder is never used on its own ..on its own it gives bluish color hence it is always used in conjunction with henna powder. You are welcome to use a single step method where you can use henna and indigo together in different ratios i.e 25% Henna and 75% Indigo for dark brown You can apply indigo at the same time or even after 123 or 4 days whenever but make sure you follow the bullet points given above.. If you prefer to use henna on its own youcertainly can - it will give you coppery/auburn color on your greys and hue on your natural hair color. Remember natural hair coloring is all about experimenting what works for one may not work for other if you know what i mean.

On top of this people use different additions for output they are trying to achieve for example if you want to add conditioning effect you neeed egg yolk, if you want more darkening effect you need to add tea to your paste, to make hair stronger some add hibiscus powder to it, also amla powder has a tendency to give more black color effect on your hair. Also some add olive oil to avoid post dryness of hair after henna application. So what you add completely depends on what you are trying to get out of your paste. anything acidic in nature will have a tendency to dry and alkaline will make it softer.
