I ordered this given the good reviews and potentially better durability than my previous adapters. However, unlike my normal adapters, this recommends you use a CD drive to work, though it theoretically gives you the option of downloading the driver if needed.When I had received the item (dispatched quickly - I have prime), I tried to see if the innate windows drivers would install the driver for me, as it had for all my previous adapters. No such luck. The mini CD was not a practical option for me, so I tried to follow the link provided in the item description to get the driver that way. This link leads to a shared google drive, which includes multiple folders and files. No instructions are given as to which file(s) you need to download and install and they are all labelled very basically (see picture), which is again of no help. I would normally avoid installing unknown files (which may contain malware) on my computer but was so frustrated with this that I decided to try installing several of these, including 'setup' and some of the files in the appropriate windows category (for me windows 7 64) - none worked. I now have a dongle which is completely and utterly useless. I also tried searching google for a driver that way - again, no luck.I have contacted the seller to get further instructions and will update this review once they have provided assistance.I am unimpressed with how difficult this has been and how useless the sellers instructions have been so far (they only give CD installation instructions - which are long winded - with the actual item).If you are thinking of buying this item and you don't have a CD drive accessible, avoid.Update : after contacting the seller, I got a response about 2 hours later (pretty quick) with how to download and install the driver. The instructions looked like they'd been translated from something else but are easy enough to sort through to figure out what you need to do. It's still a bit fiddly to install and not for those who aren't particularly computer savvy (thus the 4 stars)Working beautifully now installed. Only worth the money if it last longer than my technet and edimax ones.

Bought this for my mini pc as it kept disconnecting from the wifi and now the problem is sorted. Was super easy to use as it just worked with plug and play. Would recommend if you are having similar issues!

Defo not plug n play. Spent ages on Google and Youtube sorting this. It will connect to2.4Ghz by default...and stay there. You have to go to Device Mnager, Networ Adaptor, Realtek 8811CU Wireless Lan. Right click and select Properties. Click Advanced, click Wireless Mode and select IEEE 802. 11ac and OK It will then connect to your 5Ghz network. You are welcome,
