Bought this for my husband who practices every week. He is really happy with them.

Having used a standard military green pair of ear defenders for years until finally they gace up and fell apart, I was looking for something new,I found these, well where do I start,I was unsure on how they would operate when using different cal, from .22lr to 45/70, I have to say they are amazing, my only regret is not buying any of these sooner, even my wife wants a pair now, and trust me it takes a lot to impress her.They fit great, and are super comfy, they are a slight bit heavier than the standard ear defenders but you don't notice them after a min, its great to be able to speak to people without moving one cup to one side, the changeable side covers are good, however found the one with the controls on a bit of agro, however the batteries are in the other ear, so shouldn't need to remove it again, only other slight niggle is that they are a bit of work to fold them up, however I think this is just because they are new and need to be worn in, I do have a ear defender bely clip and unlike the standard ear defenders, they are a struggle to just pop them onto your belt without making adjustments to the belt clip that you buy, this is because of the rubberised padding inside the head band, which makes the head band prob twice as think as a standard pair, Great for putting on your head, a pain for a clip, although, at my shooting club I am the only person who uses a belt clip so for 99% of the shooting community, this will not be a problem,I would recommend these to anyone and having tried different brands I found to be the best (FOR ME) at the end of the day guys, as you all know you will do your own research and find what's best for you, I have to say that I DON'T agree with people saying they are expensive, I don't think you can put a price on health and safety equipment, and I feel that if you want an item that will last then you pay for what you get, DONT be put off by the price, these are well worth the money, they will save your hearing, make life easier at the range being able to hear people talking for range orders, and they look great, so my advise, TAKE THE HIT, and get something that will last and keep you safe.Thanks all

1- get gel pads as supplied pads are uncomfortable (too tihn)2- they are clamped on your head very tight, so they wont fall off, but that puts pressure on your head3- due the size and wires sticking out on the back, you wont be able to wear other protective gear like face shield or a helmet so keep that i n mind4- those are advertised to be used outside, however there is no wind filter or wind shield over microphones, so any wind will pretty much make you 'deaf' as it saturates all other sound, my recommendation is to stick some fluff over the microphones, but of course that would 'look weird'5- I LOVE to battery life on those it is great6- I use those as hearing aid sometimes as otherwise I cannot hear high frequencies7- If you are to use those in a factory - you will hear lots of noises like fans, vibrations etc, see point 88- The reason why those last long time on the battery, is because they use speakers optimised for battery life which means it will only help you hear high frequencies not low.9- Unfortunately human voice is mostly low frequencies so if there is a noise going on in the background and people are talking to you it won't help you hear people. It will instead amplify noise.10- Improvements? I would propose that Peltor company creates a model that will have noise canceling option or high low filter switch on the side to choose from. I know this will drain battery faster but in some situations we want to hear people 90% of the time not wind or machine noises..So overall depending what you need those for they might or not be ideal decide for yourself.

I got these at a decent saving over the prices I could find in shops locally. Having read the reviews I went for these based on other peoples opinions. They are remarkably good, once batteries are inserted and you get used to where the buttons are it's easy to turn on and off (wait for the beep) and adjust the volume. Being able to amplify sound is a great benefit - my first use for these was some walked up rough shooting where hearing what is going on around you is good - it definitely gives you more chances as you hear the flap and clatter of the bird clearly giving you a bit of notice you'd otherwise not hear. I found they didn't interfere with the gun mount as some have said.Negatives are that I found them just a little too snugly fitting, they squeeze in quite tight but I guess they are supposed to. Because of this they leave you feeling a bit hot and sweaty around your ears but this is only because they fit so well and therefore reduce noise. I felt a little restricted with them on. The noise reduction is impressive, all you hear is a gently thud.Very impressive.

These are without doubt the best ear deffenders i have ever bought. I can wear them all day long at work with no discomfort. I am a freelance inspector and my job takes me to some very noisy workshops, with the sound turned down they are very comfortable ear deffenders that block loud noise very well, when i want to talk to someone i turn the volume up, you can hear the noise but at a safe level and also hear people talking which is great. No more trying to hear people through those nastly little ear plugs or having to lift the cup of normal ear deffenders off of my ears to hear what someone is saying. I use Duracel rechargable AAA batteries which i have found last all day with the volume turned up and a few days if you turn the volume down when not talking to people. All in all perfect for noisy workplaces.
