What is difference between Staedtler 185 & 144 pencils ? Looking for pencils for adult colouring books any advice. Thanks

The 144's are the original pencils, made in the traditional way. The 185's are heavier to handle, and feel more solid, and are made of wopex. Wopex is an innovative and more ecological method of using maximum wood content from a tree, using wood composite which is hardened, and extruded (shaped) into the famous pencils, before being dipped in lacquer and sharpened.

Are they suitable for use by vegans?

As long as you are not drawing an animal you should be fine.

Do the pencils come in bubble wrap etc so they don't get damaged throughout post

First were in a box. Ripped terribly, returned. The second were in bubble envelope. Damaged again, but not so badly. I'll keep them, probably.

Can they be sharpened in a 6-8mm electric pencil sharpener?

They can be sharpened in a normal sharpener so I presume so
