which I think should be renamed as It would be really easy to buy it by accident
I am the biggest fan of babyliss big hair products (though they seem to have brought one out that doesn't blow hair dry too, which I think should be renamed as It would be really easy to buy it by accident.). If I get even a hint mine is about to conk out I buy a new one. Nothing controls my hair as well as this. If they ever stop making it I will have to stockpile as many as I can afford.I have thin, but really fine semi curly/frizzy hair. Im not one for straighteners as I like a bit of body and bounce and the babyliss big hair gives you that, especially if you have some layers in your hair.. I usually get the standard barreled one, then last time got the one with changeable large and medium barrels. This is a good option if like me you can go ages between cuts.My latest haircut is a lot shorter, layered to about the shoulders. Though I think the petites were intended for shorter hair, I hoped I might get a tighter curl out of these. And I do! In fact my hair still looks fine the next day with the petite, more so than it does with the bigger barrels. I use john frieda frizz easy mouse plus an oil product on my hair after washing. I then use a hair dryer to get it almost fully dry before using the big hair (It takes way too long if you do it from fully wet, though it does still give good results, you dont need to waste so much time). From the point I put the hair dryer down after drying it off, to finishing using the big hair is less than 10 minutes once you get the hang of it. Im rubbish with other hair devices, like the secret curl, wands etc but this is easy to use.I find that I do have to concentrate more when using the petite as it is easier to get your hair tangled if you dont pay attention. It really grabbed my hair the first time I used it and I had to slow down a bit, and feed less hair onto it. Like all big hairs I have previously bought, it seems to take a couple of uses to get going. Its hard to explain but they feel a bit jerky on the first use or two. I think its because you get used to using ones with somewhat flattened bristles, so when you get a new one it just doesn't feel right at first. The bristles on this petite seems to have flattened really quickly and the hair isnt being brushed between the bristles, its more going over them. Its possible this has always happened and I haven't noticed. This one certainly has bristles that look as splayed as the one I bought previously which Ive used most days for 2 years.Keep any receipts and check returns options if they conk out before 12 months. I have had 3 of these over they years that haven't lasted a full 12 months. This has been with almost daily use though, which I guess is a lot, but they should last longer. On all three occasions I had kept the receipt and boots replaced all with a new one. Im hoping I'll get the same service from Amazon if it happens with this one.So for all the quirks of this device, nothing makes my hair look as nice. And from now on, after trying the petite, I think I will always need a petite version and a regular to hand, unless babyliss make another with 2 barrels, one of them being the petite and one a regular sized one.

Best hair tool I have ever used
This is the single greatest hair tool I have ever used. I have been using some version of this since approximately 2010. My old one broke a few months ago (after using it daily for years) and I couldn't find this device in Australia where I now live, so I bought a Dyson air wrap instead. The Dyson doesn't even compare, what a waste of money. I have ordered another Babyliss BigHair (my third or fourth one now) from the UK site as well as a plug converter. I just did my hair and it looks as good as ever. This is very gentle on hair, no damage, creates a beautiful blow out that lasts. I can't live without it. I don't normally write reviews, but I', writing this one as not many people have heart of this product - I hope people continue to buy them as I never want them to stop making these!

Fantastic brush-dryer, I've been looking for this for years
I have had a love-hate relationship with my hair for years. It is curly, somewhat dry about 20 cm below my shoulders. It looks cute curly, but after getting out of bed, it is a mess. So for years I have resorted to a number of things most recently using first a hair dryer and then straighteners regularly. And it has been working, although my hair gets quite flat, but at least the frizz is gone.Enters this product. The first time I tried it, I was semi-successful, I took big sections of my hair and it ended a little frizzy, definitely necessitating the use of the straightener again. I am getting so much better with it, I manage to create soft curls, both in the front and the back, while keeping my hair very smooth and sleek - I kid you not it looks like I've been to a salon. I do final touches with the straighteners, but only for 2-3 minutes at key spots and my bangs. I do recommend using a towel before drying with the brush and even using a normal hair dryer for a hot second, so not to work with soaking wet hair. I use some kind of a heat protection product and a little bit of hairspray at the end. My hairstyle keeps intact for 3-4 days.Styling does take some time (for my hair - 30-40 minutes) and takes some getting used to. It could get a little messy with coordinating the direction of the brush rotation with the effect you want to achieve while looking at a mirror (orientation and direction are not my strongest suit), so you can expect some tangling in the beginning or if you have longer and thicker hair. Also rushing through is definitely not the way forward for curly frizzy hair - not sure how it works with straighter hair types. The brush itself is bigger than I imagined, my only concern down the line, is that the bristles are a bit soft and are starting to bend. So far this has not impacted performance - but I have been using it for about 2 months now. If it becomes a problem, I will update this review. UPDATE: My bad entirely for not using the pink protector, it works to straighten the bristles and protect the brush. All in all, excellent product, if you are thinking of buying a drying brush, make it this one, it's amazing!Edit (12.2016) The brush stopped working earlier this year. It doesn't switch on at all, the reason might be that it got jammed with the hairs which end up in the brush itself (there is a space behind the bristles and is almost impossible to clean). I have bought the bigger size from Babyliss, but I think I prefer this smaller one. Although it's not working anymore, I still love the product and would consider buying it again. As regards to the bristles, yes they bent just from using the brush, but performance wasn't significantly affected.
