Finally a Vitamin C product that doesn't burn me
Everytime I use a well-reviewed, well-regarded Vitamin C product, my skin will burn, sting, and turn red shortly after. It's no fault of the products, which are actually very beneficial to me, my skin just can't tolerate L-ascorbic acid. It's a shame because it's the most potent and proven form of Vitamin C in skincare but every time I think "well maybe this time I'll tolerate it..." I turn into a lobster.Vanicream's Vitamin C is the first one that hasn't given me a reaction! The main reason, from what I've found, is it uses THD Ascorbate, which is less irritating (but is likely less effective) than straight up L-ascorbic acid. I use it in the morning, and I buffer first with Vanicream moisturizer (I can use it by itself, but with actives I tend to always buffer with a moisturizer first). I use Vitamin C in the morning, and tretinoin (Altreno) at night. It's too early to say whether it's working its magic as I got it just a week ago and any improvement is probably in my head. However, so far, so good, and at least no harm has been done by using it.As a side note I highly recommend that you PATCH TEST before you slather this on your face. Not just because this is Vitamin C, but because all new skin care should be patch tested! Everyone's allergies and reactions to the same skincare product can be wildly different, and just because a product works for one person does not mean it will work for you. I usually patch test on the back of my hand first, then do a patch test on a small portion of my face (like a part of my chin or jawline), and if all is good in 24 hours, I will use it on the rest of my face.** Update ** About 1.5 weeks in, I noticed that the area under my eyes where I've been applying the cream is looking more even, lighter, and a bit refreshed. If results are consistent, this Vitamin C will have a permanent place in my routine!** Update ** It's been a month or more of using this - and I think it has a permanent place in my routine. THD Ascorbate is, from my anecdotal experience, much weaker than L-ascorbic acid which you will find in the SkinCeuticals and Timeless versions, but still hugely beneficial to me, especially considering I can ACTUALLY tolerate it on my skin. My skin tone is very even, has a kind of plump look and feel, and my face has a subtle glow! Would you notice it in a comparison photo? eh....probably not with my face. But it definitely shows in real life, and I'll take that over my usual lobster face.

Gentle yet effective, perfect for sensitive skin!
I’ve tried so many vitamin C serums that irritated my sensitive skin, but Vanicream’s version is a total game-changer. It’s free from dyes, fragrance, parabens, and all the harsh stuff, so it feels incredibly gentle and soothing while still delivering great brightening and antioxidant benefits. The serum absorbs quickly without any sticky residue, and my skin looks more even-toned and radiant after just a few weeks of use. I also love that it doesn’t cause any redness or breakouts, which is rare for me with vitamin C products. If you have sensitive skin and want a clean, no-nonsense vitamin C serum that actually works, this is the one to try. Highly recommend!

Great consistency, no burning
I really like this formula. I’ve had trouble in the past with serums being too drying, this one has a really great texture and doesn’t dry or burn my skin. I haven’t seen much of a difference yet but I’ve only been using it for about two weeks. I definitely love the consistency though and find that it does brighten a bit immediately

If you have sensitive skin don't give up on vitamin c - go with THD Ascorbate (like this one)
I have sensitive skin when it comes to vitamin C. I heard an aesthetician on social media speak as though she knew my skin exactly by asking "have you given up on vitamin c because it breaks down your skin barrier?" I felt known lol. She then went on to say that I needed to go for vitamin c that is based off of THD Ascorbate. It's gentle and still effective. So, I gave this a go. This one, I can use daily with absolutely no adverse reactions. I put it on in the mornings after cleansing and then layer on my serums and other skincare items. It layers great. I do notice my skin feels a tad oily by the end of the day (10 hours of wear) so I'm ready to wash my face in the evening. It doesn't look oily, it just feels as though I want to wash my face. Which actually works for the better for me as I don't want to get lazy and stop my skincare. It does help to brighten my skin, has a nice light creamy texture (not stickiness), and lasts. I'm glad I caught wind of what type of vitamin c my skin needs, because I had given up on it. SO all in all - If you have sensitive skin don't give up on vitamin c - go with THD Ascorbate (like this one).

Quality Skincare
In general, I have to say Vanicream hasn't disappointed me. I wanted to try a Vitamin C serum but was afraid some of the others might be too much for my skin. I have sensitive skin and have to be careful of the products I use. I do like this serum. It is lightweight without much of an odor. It absorbs into the skin quickly leaving my skin feeling soft and dewy. The price of this product is well below other Vitamin C serums. I can't speak to the effectiveness of other serums, but I do feel this is improving the quality of my skin. I will need more time to determine how it truly affects the wrinkles. If you are looking to start with a Vitamin C serum, I recommend this one.

Silky, Glowy, and Perfect for my sensitive skin
Great lightweight facial cream that truly enhances skin tone. I have very sensitive skin, especially my facial skin, so I have to be wary of products. This Vit C cream goes on silky smooth with no irritation. The cream is very smooth and absorbs quickly with no sticky residue. It gives my skin a lovely natural glow and hydrates well. I've been using it for 6 months.
