As an RFID tag reader, it works well.
As an RFID tag reader, it works well. Plug into USB port (I tried Win 10 and, Raspbian), open a text editor, scan a tag, it reads the tag ID and squirts it to the text editor. I followed instructions from another very kind reviewer:(Alex in Germany said:If you want to control the device under Linux e.g. a Raspberry Pi can intercept the input e.g. with the python “evdev” module with the command:dev = evdev.inputDevice (“/dev/input/by-ID/USB-hxgcoltd_27db-event-kbd”))Using this guidance it was straight forward to capture the read-events, send them into my python code and parse to reconstruct the preprogrammed tag number. That capture instruction from Alex should be made more widely available IMHO.It's about 6cm x 9.5cm, light and compact. I didn't subject it to intensive use, so can't talk about durability.

Works well, only downside is slightly cheap feeling
I plugged it in and it worked straight away. Only downside is the case is a little cheap feeling so I'll need to add some weight to it to use it in practice.

Just plug in and play
Can’t complain for the money. Plugged it in and it worked. Reads from a few centimetres away from the tag.

Not what I expected
I bought this expecting it to be a generic reader, that could look at an rfid tag and tell me what was on it. It does not do that! All it does is turn green when one of the specific tags shipped with it come close. It does NOT read the contents of the tag, it does NOT allow writing, and it does NOT allow you to connect it to anything else - the usb is purely for power, and not data.In other words: Useless! It's nothing more than a toy.

Cheap but worth the money
Decent reader, which cheap build quality. What you'd expect for such a cheap item. Seeing as it's bottom dollar you're not going to expect a fantastic quality item.We purchased approximately 10 of these and found them all to be fine. Packaging was a simple box. The tokens are a little cheap too, as the backing has a tendency to come off so if you're intending to use them for anything serious you may want to invest in a more robust token.

Fantastic item
Great little item to have. Easy to set up and easier to use. Small enough to fit in to your pocket and forget about

Good introduction to RFID
Only use it to unlock my PC. Probably says more about my lack of imaginative use. The instructions could be clearer.
