This lock proves perfect to anyone locking something away in work (toolbox) or just locking a door at home! At the price I wasn't expecting a thief proof lock! I'm sure this lock could easily be broken. But, all I needed was a cheap was of securing my work toolbox from my colleagues and it does just that. It came with plenty of spare keys just in the case they get lost.

Really good and perfect for my needs

This is advertised and labelled as being suitable for outside use, but it rusted and jammed very quickly. Also tricky to lock and secure, not very sturdy. Have to keep putting WD40 on it!

Cheap, strong, good

When it first arrived I was pleased as the throw on the shank was as long as quoted. Although it is (very) thin, the padlock seemed sturdy enough for a garden gate.Now the bad news.... after just a month, I have to give the lock a hefty 'thump' just to make it lock. I have to regularly stray WD40 onto it simply to keep it functioning. The padlock I'd previously used on the gate is now on the garden shed and although it's 2 years only it still works faultlessly and hasn't required maintenance of any kind.I think I'll have to purchase a more durable lock than this in the next few weeks as I'm convinced I'll be needing to take a hacksaw to this one very shortly.Sorry Trixies, but in my opinion this padlock is quite definitely NOT as advertised.
