At Last, A Senior Phone That Does The Job!...But not in UK!
I had to edit my review after only making a handful of calls before having reviewing it. Unfortunately as I had an increased volume of calls to make I began to get lots of 'call ended' errors when I dialed many of the numbers. I took this to my computer engineer and he discovered that this phone does not receive or broadcast 800Mhz, the standard Megahertz transmitted on British phone masts. It has 850Mhz/900Mhz suitable for Germany or the United States. So my review below will only suit German Amazon customers. With great reluctance I am sending this othewise lovely phone back.Waited a few days before giving an opinion but very satisfied with this phone. There are things I still don't understand in regards to calling and texting but finding out as I go along. I think these two aspects could have been made easier, but after two run ins with two other phones I am hapy to bear a minimum of issues. I sent a Doro back because it had buggy software, could'nt get it to set the ringtone, and their support staff were terrible, I was told I would get called back three times and was not.The phone itself is very attractive, it has metal sides whch give it some gravity; Doro was attractive but very plasticy. The graphics are high resolution, sharp and pleasing to the eye. The text is also high res and very readable.I was worried about ringtones but the message tone is very classy, sweet and melodious, a cut above the awful normal synthesized ones, and the ringtone is a normal, high quality home-phone type as good as BT.One's chosen photo looks great in the display, and after a few moments the clock and other info are condensed and the photo/wallpaper given preference. Of course this involves having to press 'unlock' 'ok' to get back to the menu but seems a good trade. Also if you were out and about in the town and left the phone down, or did not want those in shared accommodation to read the phone it would auto-lock after a set amount of time so you have to get used to pressing 'unlock' 'ok.'The sound is very good and the volume also. One mistake by the designers is to place the volume control keys at the side of the phone just where you place your index finger when you pick it up, so as you hold it the volume goes right down if you are not careful, but again, you adjust.Of course I have the same problem as another reviewer as regards signal and people hearing or you hearing them, but this is not the fault of the phone but your distance from the mast or interference with the signal in your area. I am about to buy a signal booster and have it installed. So I absolutly recommend this despite the huge price. Having kissed a few frogs I at last found my prince.

Warning ! Not suitable for very elderly person
Bought this phone for my 93 year old mother who is in a care home. She has sight issues as well as being deaf. The only good thing is that the volume for speech is fairly loud but the volume buttons (situated on the side of the phone) are so sensitive that it’s too easy to turn them down whilst handling the phone and she is unable to see to turn them up again. You also can’t lock them into place. I finally had to get my local phone shop to superglue them in the up position!Second problem is that there is no any key answer? This means she has to try to find the tiny green answer button to answer the call….not easy when you can’t see well.Thirdly the phone has two memory buttons for speed dialling. Great (you would think) but in order to use these (or use the phone at all) you have to use two buttons to unlock the phone, not easy when your sight js poor. There is no way to disable the phone lock permanently. All in all this is an expensive (over £80) but cheaply made phone which is definitely not suitable for elderly people with poor sight.Very disappointed!!!!

fails to live up to expectation
So yes the buttons are big, display is decent. Signal and call quality....fairly poor. Loudness, just average. Callers struggle to hear you, I can presume from poor signal quality ? Earpiece audio just simply is not loud, even on a loud setting. On "handfree" mode it is fairly decent though, but should that mode really be needed for a regular call ?But as with pretty much every phone, my Dad struggles with the buttons and menu. Not totally a faulty of the phone, but no genuinely easy and simple phones seem to exist, the directional button in the middle is his biggest nemesis, and with very arthritic hands/fingers, this is difficult for him to use....and almost every phone employs it.But when call and signal quality are poor...buttons come second in the list of problems ?It was a "second" purchase via Amazon warehouse, I wonder why it was returned first time ? Maybe there is an actual fault with the handset

Good if the elderly person had used a mobile before
This is a neat phone with basic features. The charging stand is great. Bought it for my elderly mum who is in a care home. Good volume for ring and hearing calls, clear large screen. Charges in 3 hours. Easy buttons. Great for calls. Would never be able to teach her to text as it’s the old press each key several times till you get to the letter you want but as we only need it for phone calls it’s perfect
