Hmmmm
Lovely. Would recommend with mayonnaise and black pepper, No idea obviously as they are for birds to eat! Yes they were wriggling about when delivered, not sure what else to say.

Birds love them.
Came in a good tough sack inside a box. They were lose in the sack but unless you are going to use the hole 500g at once needed to be put in a container of some sort. These are living creatures and although were going to be bird food had to be looked after until their fate. I found it strange not to have any information/instructions on how to keep and look after mealworms in the box/sack they came in. I bought a pack of bran flakes (69p lidl) and blitzed the lot in a food blender. I then got a plastic storage box and poured the powdered flakes in and put the worms in that. They also need to be fed and watered so I give them any veg that's starting to go ie Tom's,cucumber, carrot ect ect. Hope this helps. I'm only going to give the seller 4 🌟 because of there being no info on how to keep and look after these creatures.

Good value, well packaged
Arrived promptly by Royal Mail. All look fat and healthy. Packaged securely, no escapees from the bag (which was a woven, tarp-like material, not dissimilar to bags reptiles are sometimes transported in). The only issue I have with the packaging is that the padding was inside the bag, instead of surrounding it in the box as I would have expected. The padding used was newspaper, too, rather than something like brown packing paper; as mealworms will chew on almost anything they'd taken quite a few chunks out of the paper, so I'd suggest feeding well for a few days before using them to try and get any inks etc out of their system, especially if feeding to reptiles/inverts. Having the paper in the bag also meant large groups of them had crawled inside the folds and creases, but they're easy enough to collect, so long as you're not bothered by touching them. No food (other than their newspaper snack!) seems to have been placed in the bag with them, so you'll want to either buy a commercial feeder diet (like BugGrub) or make your own using cereals and flaked fish food. Good value for money, too. I was worried when I initially opened the bag that they may have used paper to up the perceived weight slightly, but after removing the paper and weighing the bag we got around 50grams more than we ordered, so they're definitely not skimpers! I've seen a few product questions regarding keeping them going, so I'll give my two pennies on that and say the way I've kept them over the years is in a RUB/plastic storage box with holes in the lid with wood shavings (like you would use for rodents etc) as a substrate. Scatter plenty of food on top and offer a slice of vegetable every day or so as a water source, removing it as soon as it dries out/starts to turn so as to prevent mould.
