Bigjigs Toys Wooden Nativity Set - Christmas, Xmas Playset

This product was very swiftly sent, I received it within 2 days which surprised me as I ordered it just before Christmas. The stable and all the pieces are very sturdy. The figures are child friendly to handle and attractively modern to look at. My grandchildren aged 3 years and nearly 1 year loved it, as did we. The animals are easily recognisable- cow, sheep, donkey and even a camel. In every respect a delightful nativity set, I highly recommend it.

My son is (nearly) 2.5 years and as he is coming towards the first christmas that he is aware of Father Christmas, lights and presents, I felt strongly that he should also be learning about the first Christmas, and wanted to buy him a nativity set - one he could play with. After searching the internet my husband and I finally settled on this one. When it arrived I was suprised by the weight and size of it. The base board is about 12 inches square, all the pieces slot together really easily and it is made of solid wood. It is sturdy and will stad up to a good amount of play. We chose this set over others because of the number of pieces - feeling that the extra bits would make scope for extra play. It also appeared that Jesus would be removable from the manger. Jesus is attached to the manger by a small screw, so we intend to take him out so that he can be added at a later stage and played with too. I am not keen on the yellow backgrounds of a number of the characters but other than that (and the lack of an angel) the set is really great, and is an excellent starting place for young children to learn and interact with the Christmas story, without any fear of pieces getting broken. As the pieces are large (4 to 5 inches tall) and without small moving parts I don't how long this set will continue to appeal, but it is great for toddler hands, and as something that comes out once a year will probably be a novelty for some years to come.

I bought this set for my preschool, for children aged 2.5 to 4. It's perfect for this age and upwards. The pieces are large and chunky (approx 4 to 5" tall), with clear detailing so you can easily tell what the characters are. The colours are lovely and bright, especially the kings. The stable is made from slot together flat pieces, simple enough for the children to put together and take apart by themselves. I bought this as a prop to use with the Nativity story, but really it is a whole playset in itself. The children are delighted with it and keep coming back to play with it again and again. Not sure how durable the paint finish will be. Time will tell...

this product is fantastic....i did not appreciate the size of the pieces, this is a really good wooden nativity set for play. I had expected it to come much smaller. It's great value for money and has all the traditional 'characters' you would expect. really pleased and highly recommended. My children are going to really enjoy opening each item over advent.

I bought this nativity for my Reception class to play with as part of their RE topic and it is amazing, large chunky pieces, and an easy to assemble stable, which the children love to take apart and rebuild! They are playing with it a table and the pieces have been dropped on the floor several times and have no visible damage, I honestly couldn’t recommend this item enough!! ❤️❤️❤️

Or children, 6 and 3, love this nativity set. They play with it as it does out all through advent. Robust, bright and a great way to help if you want to share the nativity with your children

Figures fine but the framework not strong enough as made out of fibreboard not plywood and snapped almost straight away.
