Excellent Android Auto device
This is a high quality audio/video addition to my 2010 BMW 535i. My purchase was to add a backup camera functionality in place of my older CIC information system. This product works flawlessly in that function. I also wanted wireless Android Auto capability. There where a few minor hiccups but nothing serious. When I had issues with the installation the customer service agent was helpful beyond expectations. I highly recommend this unit.

Works well enough
I researched a bunch of different options for upgrading the stock BMW CIC display. I mainly wanted to install a backup camera and have Apple CarPlay, this unit did the trick and was the cheapest one available. Lthe Good: good support from vendor, promptly answered all my questions. Screen was much better than I thought - there were many complaints about the screen being dim. It looks great at night and easily visible in the day even with convertible top down. Airplay was very intuitive and the connection was wireless. Backup camera install was made easier by 12v being available at the head unit (brown P-cam wire) rather than having to tap into reverse light. Easy to access factory Idrive screen and the idrive knob works great in most apps. The negatives: fitting the CIC unit back into the car after connecting the harness was a pain in the a$$. There is very little room back there. sometimes android quickboots right into menu while other times, it has to run through full boot up android screen (still only about 15s). Built in GPS doesn’t seem to work well- I installed mine under the dash- maybe need to be on the window or in top of dash.Overall, good product which does what you’d expect and for decent price.

Be prepared to spend extra money
The first screen I ordered, the sound worked but the screen was completely blank, wouldn’t turn on. Ordered a replacement, the screen worked but no sound. After searching for the problem, I found it came shipped with a broken audio cable, and not one that you can just replace. Customer service tried to be helpful… at first. Now they have stopped responding. I rely on having navigation for my job, so I had to have the screen fixed by a professional. Now I’m asking to be refunded, and not getting any response. I really don’t recommend this product. You’re rolling the dice, and if everything doesn’t work out of the box, you’ll be waiting weeks, and you might have to spend out of pocket to having a working screen again. Unless you’re ok waiting even longer. Maybe a third one would have worked, but I wasn’t willing to put in the hours of work to make that gamble.

It works okay, but not great
I like the fact that CarPlay works great, (I assume Android Auto). Was it easy to install. I used to be a complex audio installer many moons ago and I could make it work. But for a hobbyist, maybe so. It was so hard to fit the harness it the dash that I would say no. Especially since the one thing you can not kink is an optical wire in a BMW. It has to fit and this is a tight fit. I made sure the optical cable had priority and recommend you do too. This has nothing to do with this product, and other product would be the same issue. But the support online for this product SUCKS. There is nothing out there for it. The manual looks nice, but for a different head unit. Just terrible. Yes, the connections are the same and you can figure it out if you know what you are doing. But why ship a manual for a product you are not getting, but for a different unit? This is just a Chinese product that does the job, if you want Android Auto or Carplay, but don't care about the integrated Android operating system. I can't get a sim card from my carrier to even show up, which shows supported. But that is my primary use. I guess I can't recommend this unit to anyone. The only saving grace is the iDrive integration with the Android head unit and then Carplay for me. That is very nice and well thought out. But I have a nice bounded manual with the wrong product, and no brand information or no one to call. Did I mention my Verizon sim I just got does not show up at all even though the manual says it does? But then again it feels like by the pictures I did not even get the right manual. I think I would have picked another.

Worked as expected and improved my car's audio and nav interface.
*Full disclosure, I was incentivized to write a review, however this is my honest opinion and experience with the product/company.I installed this unit on a 2010 BMW 328i with the intention of bringing my car's audio and navigation interface up to speed with current technology.I wanted three things, wireless car play, use of my car's existing interface and for the unit to automatically connect when I get in the car. This unit delivered on all three. The installation process wasn't as bad as I anticipated but I do recommend you buy an auto interior tool kit before installing. The unit comes with a panel pry tool but I found having more tool options/sizes made the install much easier and reduced the risk of damage while removing panels.Instructions that came with the unit were quite generic but there are enough videos on YouTube help you figure things out.Email support from the company was surprisingly good.A few things to note, changing the settings to finish setting up and optimizing the integration with your vehicles is a bit confusing and one wouldn't know to what to change or adjust unless you reach out to the company for support. For example, the blue tooth audio (for the person listening on the other line was terrible, but after disabling one of the settings on the unit, the audio quality significantly improved.Am I happy with the product and features? YesCould the instructions be more detailed and help the user understand how their device works? YesDid customer service provide prompt solutions to help me troubleshoot during and after install? YesWould I recommend this product to someone else? Yes
