Zodiac ZODMB11-6K 6-Cup Cafetiere, Black

This is a nice everyday french press. It is a simple design made of mostly plastic, with a glass insert. The plunger is well designed and is great at pushing all the coffee granules to the bottom of the glass leaving only coffee above the plunger. I have used two french presses in that past, both were more expensive than the Zodiac yet left coffee granules floating above the plunger which ended up in the mug. I love that there are no granules left behind and the price is affordable.There is a secondary filter to catch any granules that may be above the plunger which I found to be very clever and effective. The french press is dishwasher safe, however I hand wash the french press as I believe the dishwasher weakens the glass and leaves a strange taste in the coffee.6 cup is a bit misleading, It holds enough coffee for two mugs. I have included a picture of the mug I use to help you judge the quantity of coffee.Pros:Great price (8 pound at the time of this review)Great size.Dishwasher safe.Great plunger.Cons:Handle and base are plastic (hard plastic)Note:I had to buy a second one because the glass cracked on the first one. This is not the manufacturers fault. I tried to clean it immediately after using it and poured cold water into the warm glass causing it to crack. Please allow it to cool before trying to clean it.I am very pleased with this affordable french press and I have no issue recommending it.

Easy to use, sturdy feeling caffetierre. Wanted a new one after our previous one smashed so durability was important and also size - so many arrive and they’re tiny! This is perfect for two large mugs of coffee or multiple smaller cups.It looks good - not the most amazing looking as it’s black plastic around the glass but it does the trick and means it’s easy to wash up without worrying about breaking it.Arrive quickly and well packaged and was a good price. Really pleased!

Bought for work and opened to find it smashed to pieces. Then to be told I have to go out of my way to hermes drop off point to get a refund. Which is not possible as I am eurking 7 days a week 12 hour shifts for the next 3 months. Disgusting.if I did return I have to keep a bag of dangerous sharp glass to return to them. Just idiotic when I have children.

Extremely disappointed with this item, it arrived this morning and cannot be used due to the broken beaker. It arrived 15 minutes ago in the usual Amazon Smiley box which had no damage, inside the box was just brown parcel packaging and the press wrapped in a single thin layer of bubble wrap, no nearly enough protection for a glass item. I now have done what I should of done initially and ordered a more reliable brand. I also have the irratation of parcelibg it back up, returning it and wait for the 7-10 working days for my refund.

Not a 6 cup cafetiere - at least not for normal cups, but at a pinch great for 3 mugs. I tend to fill it two thirds full and use for 2 mugs for which it is ideal, but was bought as such. In my experience no 6 cup cafetiere will actually fill 6 cups unless they are the tiney ones which no-one seems to use any more. But as a 2-3 mug unit this is great!

I bought this in August, and up until now it's been suitable for what I wanted to use it for, although sometimes when pouring the coffee there is a little bit of spillage over the spout - you just have to be careful how you pour it.However, the cafetiere has now developed a small crack on the inside near the handle, and I only use it occasionally and I am always very careful with cleaning it, so I'm not particularly impressed with the quality of the item. I only noticed the crack when I made some coffee, left it to brew and came back to find it had leaked all over my worktop.

-Came really carefully packaged, not too much but enough to prevent any breakages, and the box was the correct size for the product. It was packed with care.-It looks good and feels sturdy- plastic will mean rust free-It is a gift so I have not personally used it

I am seriously disappointed with this cafetiere!I would have loved it but I cant get the glass jug in or out of the plastic holder with ease! I have cut my finger several times on the sharp edges of the plastic holder whilst trying to get the jug out! It takes a lot of effort and hot water to remove or replace the jug, it really is a pain in the neck and my shoulder!
