Delicious!
Bought these as wanted some good quality beans for my salads to up my fibre content. These were perfect for that. They tasted amazing and I could enjoy each bite properly, they were not mushy (I guess you could keep cooking them to make them mushy?) and felt good quality. They release a really dark water, which seems to be the difference between high quality and poor quality black beans. 🫘 After comparing prices of dried beans in Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, etc the price difference was very small and with the fact that these are a much higher quality and organic, I went with these. Would buy again and recommend to friends and family! A delicious recipe idea: Take a big bowl and mix: - 2 handfuls of baby spinach - 1-2 tomatoes cubed - 1/2 a cucumber - 100g of chicken breast shredded - 30-45g of black beans (cooked) - you can add more or less as you wish - seasonings like salt, pepper, garlic granules, etc (the flav comes from the other ingredients). - use either mayo, yogurt or sour cream to mix all together and enjoy! To boil the chicken breast, add the following in the water: Turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin, coriander powders, garam masala, several cloves, a few cardamoms, lots of bay leaves, some peppercorns and salt. I can guarantee it will be delicious!

Beautiful beans. Black beans are amongst my favourites :)
Well, despite searching extensively on Google I could find no reference anywhere online to the insides of black (turtle) beans being better quality if they are "green" as opposed to "yellow" as another reviewer of these beans authoritatively told us before leaving a lower star rating. The insides of black beans are actually, as you might expect, a greyish white with a slight purple hue after soaking but before cooking. Once cooked, the black skins colour the cooking water a deep dark purple black. I can tell you that the deeper black the bean is, the healthier they are for you (due to being rich in flavonoids and anti-oxidants). And these are deep, dark black, staining the soak water and cooking water to Inky depths. Crammed with healthy benefits then! These beans are extremely good quality. They are plump and intact, and when cooked they have a wonderful flavour, just waiting for you to add in to your favourite dishes. I've enjoyed black bean soup and black bean tempeh this week, and so I can thoroughly recommend these beautiful little beans. I hope this review is helpful to you in your purchase considerations :)

with the time sending awful products. Disappointing!
Well... Very disappointed. I subscribed to receive it with other Brown rice, oat, Peals barleys etc regularly. I was happy until my second time delivery but my Third time Organic Black turtle beans (3kg) was awful : very broken, colour is different they seem very old over dried bean - It takes so long to cook but still not enough cooked soften. there is lacking of honesty. what is the point to subscribe to get worsen product with time. Feel very disappointed!!! I want to throw the beans away.
