THE BEST NAIL TRIMMING SOLUTION, PERIOD.
I expected a cheap peace of junk made in China and what I received is probably one of the best consumer products I have ever purchased. This thing is a miracle. I had historically used a Dremel on my Golden Retrievers. They didn't like it, but they complied. Our one-year old Lab took to this trimmer with no problem at all. His nails are so short that they make no contact with the ground. Everyone comments on them - vet, groomer, trainer. It's a remarkable product. It's relatively quiet and, if you do it right, the light shines right through the nail so you can see the quick. Ours is a Red Fox Lab, so your success with seeing through nails on a darker/black dog may vary. The trick is to lay the dog on its back with its head in your lap. Not all dogs will do this so you may need a little help from someone to feed some treats as a distraction. Mine didn't need any of it. Just take a little off every couple of days, avoid the quick and your dog will have perfect nails. No floor scratching and no car seat scratching. If your dog is apprehensive, just hold it in your lap while sitting on the floor and give it some rubs and treats will turning the trimmer on low. Don't actually trim our dogs nails until it's comfortable with the device. When you do trim for the first time, just gently hit one nail and call it a day. Do it again later and use treats. Keep doing that and, in a few days, you'll have a great trimmer solution.I would very much caution you not to get aggressive with this trimmer. It can be tempting to go crazy and take them all the way down, and some dogs may allow this, but it WILL hurt if you hit the quick, even though there won't be blood.I would also recommend trimming the top part of the nail and letting the concrete wear down the under-side of the nail naturally. If you don't walk your dog enough for that, just carefully file the entire nail a little bit at a time. Doing this every few days keeps the drama to a minimum and will keep your dog's quick moving backward. Just remember to take the smallest amount off if you can't see the quick. Less than a millimeter.I'm going to buy another one just so I have it when the one I have fails. It's that good.Note on pictures: This is a very active dog. He hikes mountains and walks 4-6 miles per day. His nails look rough because he spends a lot of time on rough terrain. You could file your dog's nails with a nail file if you want them smooth. I'm going for short.

Effective, and Perfect for My Anxious Senior Husky!
I have a senior, anxious female Siberian Husky who has always been terrified of loud noises—especially nail grinders. Clippers were never an option because her nails are so thick, and it would stress both of us out trying to use them. She was long overdue for a nail trim, and unfortunately, the quick had grown out quite a bit due to the lack of regular maintenance.I decided to give this grinder a try, and I’m so glad I did! It’s incredibly quiet—much quieter than others I’ve tried—and that made a huge difference for her anxiety. I was finally able to grind her nails down to a much better length without causing her stress or discomfort. While I couldn’t get them as short as I’d ideally like because of how long the quick has gotten, I’m hopeful that with consistent, gentle grinding sessions, the quick will slowly regress to where it should be.This grinder has made something that used to be a dreaded task into something manageable, and that means everything when caring for a senior dog. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with anxious dogs or thick nails!

Some needed improvements and some misses
I bought the N65 last year and found it to be very handy and makes quick work of my GSD’s thick nails with little fuss from my dog.I just bought this new model when my old one went missing. What I like about the new model? It fits my hands better and is just a tiny bit shorter. There is noticeably less vibration and noise Vs. the N65 with or without grinding wheel installed and I didn’t have to modify the grinding wheel shield to accommodate my dogs thick nails like I did with the N65. The toolhead cover could come in handy for traveling or in case of accidental drops. The new model seems to power through my dogs nails ( same # 4 setting ) with less strain on the motor. Can’t say if the motor has more power or that the batteries hold the voltage better during use, or maybe the grinding wheel has a more aggressive grit ?My N65 is about a year and 4 months old and it could be slowing down with age and use? Now, the misses! Why did you remove the on/off switch and add a light on/off button? Not sure what a light on/off button brings to the table unless they are being used in war zones and the light may give their position away? The N65 setup was much better. I could have my speed set and just turn the grinder on but, now I have to count clicks or remember what side the speed settings are on and either leave the light on or turn it off? Not as intuitive! They removed the flat end and the grinder can no longer stand on its end. It also exposes the speed adjustment wheel to drop damage. The grinding wheel shield is more difficult to install or remove but, I’m sure will get easier with use.In my N65 review I recommended a rubber armor coating for bump protecton, grip and vibration control if it doesn’t cause overheating issues.I also would like to see a grinder have its grinding wheel run parallel with the length of the nail.Good overall but, still took a step backwards in my opinion.Lastly, no more lifetime warranty?12/19/24 update.I found my 1.6+ year old N65 grinder and compared it to the new model.I was surprised by the reduced vibration and noise from the new model Vs. the N65 and the improved speed and efficiency of nail grinding too!I even swapped out the grinding bits with the same results ( faster, quieter and less vibration with the new model ). Hope this is of some help.

AWESOME Nail Grinder
I own a mobile grooming salon and I purchased this nail grinder as a backup to have on the van in case our groomers needed it. Turns out that they ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! They love this nail grinder so much they stopped using their own and only use this one. It's variable speed and very quiet so it doesn't scare our furry clients! I highly recommed this nail grinder for anyone who needs one. If our groomers love it... I KNOW it's good!
