Sram MRX Shifter Shimano Compatible

We needed a replacement 3 speed shifter for one that had been broken on one of the cycles at our charity. This one is marked up SRAM but also mentions Shimano, a little investigation revealed that the two brands have very similar shift ratios for their three speed components.This came with a cable pre-installed and was fitted and adjusted in about ten minutes. It is being used to shift an internal hub 3 speed and is working fine.At £6 the price is very competitive compared to a SRAM original shifter.

Having bought this as a replacement for a broken grip shifter (the plastic had perished and snapped), this shifter was very easy to fit, simply sliding on, tightening to the bars and threading the new cable through to the front mech (the cable had plenty of spare length to the mech, so would fit any bike). Simple adjustment and the job was done in under 5 minutes. The graduations in between the 3 gears is very helpful and removes and rubbing and makes adjustment very quick, and the chain enters the chainring first time, although I can understand how others would prefer there to be only 3 positions. Slight stretch of the new cable is not an issue and easily rectified, I'm sure the cable and shifter will last.

The price is very competitive but the quality is not as good as the one it replaced. The ratchet feels more fragile. It was fitted to a 24 speed old design steel Raleigh bike and the front changer range is marginal.

I have "Trauma Induced Arthritis" as a result of coming off the bike on slippery surfaces on several occasions. Over time, it got just about impossible to change gear on the left side, particularly when hand was cold or tired.I was told it was too light on the touch, even for kiddies bikes.I was desperate, so gave it a try. On a full sized bike, it used the full length of the cable, and was NOT light on the touch - - it was firm and very positive.Since then I've been using the left gear virtually every day, even on the not-so-steep hills, and I don't know how I ever got along without it - - absolutely NO pain changing the gear, and very positive.DEFO five star.

I did not expect it to come with the wire already fitted into the shifter - massive bonus and nice surprise. Buy this, it's so easy to fit.

Smallest son decided to park his bike on the gear selector and snapped it straight off. Bought this as a replacement and it does a perfect job.Comes with own cable, so needed threading through all the guides on the bike. Even so only took ten minutes to change the unit over.

Easy to assemble, light on the hand, it shifts smoothly, not too strong though. But I guess it is good for the price

Needed a triple twist-grip shift replacement for a Trek 7200 Multitrack. This SRAM unit was similar and worked compared to what it was replacing but not identical. Works very well and was very reasonably priced. Installation was easy.

Als Ersatz für altes Sram Max gekauft. Alles in einem - gutes Produkt, keine Neueinstellung erforderlich. Einziges Manko - es ist unmöglich das Drahtende direkt an den Schalter zu verbinden, es kann nur einseitlich durchgeführt werden. Da aber ein existierender Draht bereits gequätscht ist, ist Wiederverwendung altes Drahts unmöglich, es sei man möchte löten. Zum Glück wird aber neuer Draht gleich mitgeliefert, daher kein Punkteabzug.
