I bought this because I made chicken balls for the first time a week ago, and I didn't have one of these. It's absence made the job longer than it should've taken, i.e. removing said chicken balls from deep frying in a wok. With the arrival of this implement just in time for my second run at them this week, I was delighted at how easy it made lifting the balls out of the pan, several at a time, and without much oil. A must for anyone thinking of trying to create their own deep fried starters from the Chinese and Indian repertoire. Very nicely made.

Material is thicker than I thought. Very sturdy

This is the perfect size for me to manage getting things out of my air fryer.

The mesh is constructed from woven wire and the problem arises from that. Within a week of daily use, slightly sharp wire ends were sticking out on the inside and outside of the mesh bowl. If all you want this for is to pour oil or whatever else through it, it may be fine for you. But in my case I am straining gravy/gel from meat chunks, and to do this it's necessary to press the meat in the strainer bowl with my hand to force the liquid out and through. I did not like doing this once sharpish wire ends began to stick out, so I threw this away. Fortunately I found a strainer (ladle) on Amazon to replace it with. It is of a different sort, welded wire mesh, not woven, which will not develop sticking out wire snags.

An useful and perfect utensil to have in the kitchen. I am pleased that I went with the smaller size. Makes straining food from the deep frying oil a breeze. Pleased with my purchased.

I use it to take out ravioli from boiling water, chicken legs from chicken soup etc. I find it much better than the alternatives I have used in the past (such as a colander, a special pasta fork etc.). The build is excellent and it is easy to clean.
