I really enjoyed this set. I agree with other reviewers, some specs of the kit, namely the liner lock, needed modification. The liner lock was easily filed down to a functional height. The screws were tough to determine which one fit with a given part. But it was fun to put together and form the grip. Power tools are absolutely necessary to shape the scales. The pakka wood is too dense for hand files to make meaningful work. Once assembled, it’s a nice pocket knife overall. Though extra work was required, it’s a build kit. I found that part of the fun.

My husband was very impressed with his Christmas gift. I was afraid it would be below his skill level, but he had a ball putting it together. And was overjoyed with the finished product. And I was assured by him the it was a unique gift for knife enthusiasts and excellent quality.

This folding liner locking knife kit comes with a decent looking blade. Other than that, it's not so great. For one, never use size 6 hex bolts, they're known to strip. All of my higher end knives in the 400 dollar range are using size 8 and it makes a big difference.Second, and most importantly.. either the liner lock wasn't machined to be a far enough length.. or the blade stop is machined too far back. There is massive amount it front to back blade play which renders this knife 100% useless.Typically you can adjust the liner bar inwards or outwards to resolved this issue but I have used my thumb to slowly push the locker left to right to see if there is a high or low spot it wants to sit at to allow the blade to stop having play but it's wobbly all the way through. This could be due to the blade stopping pin being either too far down the handle which makes the blade open further than intended.. or it's a poorly designed liner AND pin.I wouldn't even use this as a paper weight. It's a shame because I enjoy the full tang knives you sell. Get some QC going please. Thank you.

This was a fun project my wife bought to keep me busy. Good learning tool on how folding knives work. The kit came with all the necessary pieces and went together well. the biggest technical parts are honing the blade and shaping the handle scales (which I haven't done either, because I can't get to some of my tools right now). Pretty happy to have something to tinker with. The instructions weren't the best, but take your time and it'll turn out fine.

The blade stop pin holes in the right and left liners don’t quite line up. Hence I had to really tighten the pivot pen screw to get the blade stop pins to go all the way or as far as I could get them to go in. Because of this the blade does not open or close as smoothly as it should. Also the holes on the left handle scale do not appear to as deeply countersunk as the ones on the right handle scale, so I will have to carefully drill those out a bit to get the front screw to be at the level of the boltster when the left scale is sanded down. The quality of the kit could be better. Over I am disappointed.

These were just as described. After a few tweaks they worked just fine. They turned out awesome, and at a great sale price.

Blade is fine as well as other components. Some screws do not fit into pre tapped holes properly especially fasteners for the scales! Scales themselves are pretty poor quality! You’d be better off ordering a decent set from other vendors. Value for the money is in line with what you get, but there are better knife kits out there for a few dollars more!
