Fun and appealing model with mutiple options
This is a high-quality model that features several build options: stock, custom, or drag (race). There are two engines to choose from, two different hoods, and many other selectable parts. The instructions are clear and the fit is great. I went for the race car option which supports many high quality decals.

Great kit for some serious custom work.
My plan is a to build a chopped and sectioned old school cruiser out of this shoe box Ford.

Christmas Gift
My nephew loves model car kits, but has had some really rotten luck with them. Several have been missing pieces, or ended up looking more like a kid’s toy than a model. When I gave him this one, he immediately opened it and checked it out. He was really happy with it.

My First car
AMT ‘s 49’er model of a 1949 Ford coupe was the basis for replicating my first car. I purchased my ‘49’er in 1957 for $250.00. Today that car in showroom condition can bring 30,000 or more. It is great for modelers that AMT offers a lot of vintage models. On the down side, their models almost always require “adjustments” to make some parts to fit. There is, for example, excess flash to be removed. Wheel mounting on AMT models is usually a challenge. The one piece windows, however, are a plus. I use Fysea chrome markers to finish body chrome parts. The moon wheel covers, which were very popular in the late 50’s came from my stockpile of leftover parts. I used Tamiya French Blue and Racing White to match my first car,s colors.
