Arrived quickly. Well packed. Took minutes to fit and operates as expected. It's hard to write any more as this product did exactly what it is supposed to do. I replaced the one that was broken at my mum's house. Now I know there should not be any further problems for her. Thank you!

Replaced my very old float valve with this one, reusing the existing float. For my first attempt at this job, it was very straight forward, though I was worried about potentially mis-threading the join to the mains water, as this was joining the nylon thread of the Opella valve to an old copper nut. I needed to keep testing the joint for leaks, gradually making it tighter. On the third go, the slow leak stopped and I left it. An experienced plumber would be able to judge how much torque was appropriate, but as a newbie, I think this is the hardest part to get right. It also took some adjustment to ensure that tightening the join did not move the float arm to be rubbing or touching the main flush pipe, as any friction might later cause problems. The job itself was about 15 minutes, made awkward as the bathroom has no isolation valve so water can only be turned off and on at my cold water tank, but testing for any slow leaks and adjusting was over around 2 hours.I am planning on replacing the valve in a second slow-filling toilet of the same type, but I'll be going for a unit nearly double the price with a metal thread and I'll be finding where I put my roll of PTFE tape, just in case. Considering that the last time I paid a plumber to change my tank cistern cost me over £100, working out how to change these yourself is a great investment. Comparing the price at my largest nearest hardware centre for the exact same models was interesting, they were a few pence cheaper on Amazon.

Can't use it as it is not complete

Does the job ok but only just fitted this item so no idea of long time performance. Compared to old fill valve it replaced it looks very flimsy.The fitting for the steady piece is useless and needs a FULL threaded hole section not just a half hole. I had to improvise to keep this in place.One good thing is that the "non return valve" i.e. the flat plastic sheet, when it fails can be replace in situ without having to dismantle anything.

Good quality for the price, straight forward installation this fill valve highly recommended to everyone
