Charcoal tips are really helpful
Bought for my Mum who is taking an art class using charcoal. She says that there are some good extra tips in this book.

Well laid out
My love of drawing is very narrow in that I use pencils all the time but recognise that I should branch out and try other things. I attend a life drawing session each week in Glasgow and some of the artists using charcoal produce spectacular results. I therefore bought this book in order to kick-start myself on the charcoal journey. The book is 21.7cm wide by 28cm high and contains 112 pages. As the title states the book gives you 12 techniques to learn in a five week period and Cindy Wider takes you through a series of exercises as well as some detail on the materials to use. I like the layout and will work through this with the aim of using charcoal on my weekly sessions (eventually!). Wish me luck.
