Almost perfect
I wanted a little Linux machine as a “RetroAchievement” device for small play sessions. This fit the bill—instantly playable, connected to WiFi consistently, and very pocketable. It felt like a premium device due to the metal. Two things caused me to take away a star: the packaging and the ergonomics. The 353m was not secured in the box at all. When I opened the Amazon box, the 353 was loose inside because its box was not taped or anything. That made me a little nervous as to what I was receiving.Secondly, after relatively short sessions (20-30 minutes), my thumb and inner hand hurt. It’s a pretty device, but not a very comfortable one.If these drawbacks don’t bother you, I’d say go for it.

Great dual OS system
Feels premium with the aluminum and keeps cool in your hands. One downside is it is HEAVY compared to the plastic handhelds, though that’s part of the premium feel. Comes with a selection of random games on a unbranded SD card (64GB). I recommend downloading the firmware from their site and installing it onto a branded card (SanDisk Ultra works well).Seems to use a customized version of Batocera - which I believe you can get a plain vanilla version from the Batocera website as well for the RG353. You can also boot into Android but found the Android experience a bit of a mess since you have several emulators to configure and the experience is less cohesive. You can get something like LaunchBox for Android that helps somewhat. The side by side triggers don’t bother me much and I purchased this for the kiddo - given his smaller hands he has no problem with the triggers or layout of the rest of the buttons. It can run up to PSX and some N64 but not stellar. I’ve used it as an introduction to old school gaming I grew up with for my 5 year old and he seems to have taken to the old Zeldas and Metroids. It also fits in your pocket if you want something small enough to travel with and the battery life is around 3+ hours (honestly haven’t timed it).

Works but system freeze when put into sleep
The device works as advertised but quite buggy.1) When battery is drained, for some reason save file may not be up-to-date. I lost some game progress because of this.2) When you use emulator’s saving function, it may revert your in-game save file to past. For example, I saved my game using Emulator function at Time A. After an hour play, I made in-game save only at Time B. Another hour later, I accidentally loaded game save from Emulator save file done at Time A. I wanted to go back to Time B via in-game save, but that was gone.C) When you put your device to sleep, and then plug to power, it will not turn back on. If you have your device on sleep for long time (while battery is still ok), it will not turn back on. You need to hard reset power, then device will function ok. This is problematic when you just want to resume game quickly.

Great Machine very premium feel to it.
The machine arrived ahead of time and the seller is top notch. I'm a repeating customer. This is like any Ambernic device a very nice device, the metal shell is great and extra ram is wonderful for those high end emulators. The android portion of it is also enjoyable. I currently have Ark OS installed on it. And the device rocks. The problem with this is that, unless you use the original OS ( linux/batocera) that comes with it, the only way to access android is to take the card off. I really like it, but you should do some internet youtube research on the machine.
