Quality Car tent
I've been camping/backpacking for almost 30 years in the PNW in sun, rain, snow and did I mention rain. I know what it's like using low quality gear and I try to avoid it if possible. This tent is AWESOME for the features/price point. The material is decent quality and holds up pretty well in moderate winds. As many reviewers have mentioned, the instructions are......limited, at best. There's a card inside with a link to video instructions which helps, but not by much. Honestly, if you have experience setting up other tents, you can manage this. If not, probably practice in the driveway. My first set up was in the dark and even then it only took ~15 - 20 mins. My wife and I commented several times about how surprised we were on the quality and features for the price. Multiple awnings, solid stitches and construction. The stakes are standard basic tent stakes and could probably use and upgrade, but are totally usable. It doesn't have a ground cloth/cover, which worked for us as we simply used it for a sitting area, but a ground cloth or tarp can easily be had and would work great.TLDR: As someone with experience with many tents over the years, I highly recommend this one for it's features, quality, and price.

A reliable, well designed car tent
We’ve used this about 6 times and I feel comfortable writing a review at this point. The tent is surprisingly easy to set up. With two people it only takes about 3 minutes and could definitely be done by one person. Our ‘21 4Runner is a good size vehicle and the tent secures snugly around it.We use extra bungee cords like others have recommended to tighten it up against the car. There are lots of attachment points to make it easy to adjust the fit. We also bought good quality tent stakes and a hammer and that added a lot to the ease of setup. We camped in rain and it did fantastic at keeping us dry, even in an open hatchback. It folds up easily into the original bag, another big plus. I’d estimate it provides about 6-8’ of covered floor space beyond the back of our car. There’s plenty of room for coolers and luggage. The one consideration is that to properly secure the tent you want to be on or near fort, so you can stake it taut. If you are completely on concrete and don’t have dirt on the sides (if you were in a parking lot, for example) it is going to be difficult to expand the tent and make it a good fit.Great value and quality for the money!

Easy to put up - good value
The media could not be loaded. Some people have left reviews say that it takes a lot of work to get the tent assembled. I found a very simple way that works. The first time you put it on your car you set it all up and adjust your straps - then all you have to do is hook it up from then on out. The first time might take you 20 minutes, but after that, it probably only takes 10 or less.1. Lay the tent out so that they gathered side of the tent that has elastic in it is pointing towards your car.. with the hatch back down lay this part of the tent over the top of your car. There are straps on each side, run them through the loops and then weave it through your wheel on your tire. Bring the strap back up and put it into the clip at the top. Cinch the strap tight. From now on it fits your car!2. Then lift your hatchback with the tent laying over the car. This works the easiest because you don’t have to try to get the tent wrangled over the top of a hatchback that’s open.. much easier! If you have a roof rack on your car, I would with the strap through the roof rack as well.3. Insert the tent poles through the clips and the loop that sound to the back side of the tent. Put each end of the tent poles into the grommets. Inside of the tent, there is a black strap that is attached near where the pole is. It stretches across the inside of the tent and attaches to a clip on the other side where the pole goes through the grommet on that side.4. Make sure all of your doors screens and everything are zipped shut, then spread the tent out away from the car and insert the stakes on each side of the door.5. We purchased new heavy duty stakes that have a hook on them, and we put a stake in near the tire, where the tent poles come down and near the opening of the door of the tent on each side. Six stakes in total..I’ve seen a review that says it takes two people to put this up but it definitely could be done by one person.EDIT: we have used this for 7 nights - up and down each night. We have had strong winds, thunder, lightning and rain. As long as you get better stakes with a hook and put them in tight you are good to go. We set out crates with food and some firewood along the inner flap when we had the wind. This is holding up well.

Functional and Stylish, But With Limitations
Pros:Winter-Friendly Design: The absence of a bottom is a standout feature, making it exceptionally suitable for winter camping. It simplifies setup and teardown, avoiding the mess of snow and mud.Aesthetic and Material Quality: The tent looks sleek and the fabric quality is impressive, suggesting durability and good weather resistance.Cons:Size Limitation: It's smaller compared to other vehicle camping tents on the market. This can be a drawback if you're looking for spacious outdoor living quarters.Dependence on Vehicle Support: Unlike some other tents that can stand alone, the KAMPKEEPER must be attached to your vehicle to stay upright. If you plan to use your car without the tent, you'll have to disassemble it, which limits its versatility.Final Thoughts:The KAMPKEEPER SUV Car Tent is a great addition to any winter camper's gear, especially for those who prioritize ease of use and cleanliness in snowy conditions. Its aesthetic appeal and material quality are definite plus points. However, its smaller size and inability to stand independently may not suit everyone's needs. If you're looking for a shelter that extends your vehicle's living space with minimal fuss, this is a solid choice. Just be aware of its limitations in terms of space and standalone stability.
