I did not care for this tape. It is easy to use but I did not like the feel. The tape is thin and very adhesive. I felt like this was actually drying my skin out. I preferred the thicker silicone tape that has more of a gel feel. When the thicker gel tape began to wear out, I tried this tape again - Initially, I did not care for this tape as much as the thicker more gel like tape I got from the surgeon's office (Silagen). The feel was very different and I was not sure the thin tape would work as well. Also the skin around my scar was dryer and more sensitive in the early weeks, the adhesive on this tape is stong and I felt it was too strong on my skin at the time. As the Silagen tape wore out, I tried this tape again. It actually is working very well. Great on tummy tuck scar. More flexible for the scars from my breast surgery and the thin tape works better when I want to wear a normal bra as opposed to compression bra. The color blends well on the skin. The cost is also much more reasonable than the other brand which is meaningful when you want to use the treatment over several months. One note is that since the adhesive is strong and you have to be very careful the tape does not fold onto itself when you are applying a length of tape. I have been able to take the tape off and reapply it after showering but a few times,I got the tape stuck on itself and ended up discarding it. The good thing is that the tape stays put while I'm strength training and/ or running. It's comfortable; Once it's applied, I don't notice that it's on. The cost is much more reasonable than the other brand so you can afford to apply new tape more frequently which is meaningful when you are using the treatment over several months.

I heard so much about this tape from dermatologists online, so I wanted to see if it would work on old and new scars. I have melanated and sensitive skin, and traditional band-aids cause further damage. I wanted to see if it would treat old scars as well as prevent marks forming from new scars. After two weeks, I can say that this silicone scar tape does heal old scars very well. Moreover, you can cut the tape to your desired shape and length. However, the downside is that you have to finesse the tape off the hard plastic lining and ensure it stays put, so wherever you have a cut, don't apply lotion or oils, or the tape will be on your blanket or pillowcase. I tried to clean and reapply the tape, but the tape lost it's stickiness, so consider this a one-time use tape. Thought it does a great job with old scars, it doesn't do a great job with new scars. In fact, I had a recent scar darken in color due to the tape, yet another scar heal without any discoloration. So if you have melanated skin, understand that there is a 50/50 chance of your scars appearing darker. I will say that the upside for me is that the scar tape did slightly match my skintone, so I could wear it outside if needed. Overall, the tape is kind to my sensitive skin and covers scars, but is iffy on the healing aspect, since the product does not prevent discoloration. I'm going to use up the package. Hopefully, things change.
