Q: Description says portable. Does this fold up? Do the legs fold up, so that this can be stored under the sofa or under a bed?

no it won't fold down - only the top folds flat. wouldn't slide under a bed but it's great that you can raise it a litle or use the top flat. we like it tilted

Q: Do you have to build with the horizontal support board between the legs? I'd like to use an ottoman underneath the table.

Not sure I think its needed for support. You can still use ottoman because board is on the back side of table.

Q: Is the width between the legs 25 inches? I'm asking because I'd like to place an ottoman between the legs of the table. Thank you.

I measured 25 1/2" width between the legs.
