Better than the GA-2 by a mile!
Excellent build quality compared to the GA-2, Ricoh’s own adapter. The GA-2 is made of super lightweight plastic, and there is quite a bit of play and shake when using it as it doesn’t secure well to the camera. This JJC adapter however, is made of aluminum and is super solid, and feels secure. In addition, it does NOT trigger the crop mode, which the GA-2 does, so if you so choose you can use this with the GT-2 at 60mm (a true 1.5x) and full resolution. If you’d like to use the GT-2 at 75mm, simply enable the 50mm crop mode! I love the ability to choose, and it makes the GRIIIx even more versatile. The build is vastly superior to the Ricoh GA-2, at less than half the price. I highly recommend this to all users of the GRIIIx!

Solid real deal for my GR3X
Solid construction and works great. If you want to avoid the automatic crop applied by the camera, this is a great alternative to the OEM version.

Adapter has slight wobble when attached to camera
The build quality of the adapter is excellent. Made from sturdy aluminum. However, I'm disappointed with the fit when it's mounted on the camera. It doesn't lock in as securely as I'd like, and there's a slight wobble or movement that can be quite annoying during use. Aside from that issue, the adapter seems legit and performs as expected.

Solidly constructed, good price, only one flaw
Got this to adapt the GT-2 teleconverter onto my GR IIIx. The Ricoh GA-2 is just too expensive for what it is, and I don't love that you have to cover the contacts on it in order to avoid going into crop mode, so I got this. The quality if machining is great, the price is great, but there's one flaw that I consider to be somewhat substantial, and others may disagree - there's nothing really locking this into place in any appreciable way when it's on the camera. Given that it takes less than a finger's width of a turn for it to disengage from the camera, it feels ripe for the taking-it-out-of-bag-and-falling-straight-off-the-camera scenario. It doesn't feel secure, and I was hoping for something that I could feel comfortable either leaving on camera for a couple of shots, or leaving on camera for a full day.

The plus one - no issues on macro
A great add on to my Ricoh GR 3. I was refusing to use the Ricoh ever since I got it ten days ago because I wanted a cover for that lens - had damaged my Sony rx100 a few years ago and ever since I’ve had one for all my cameras (you can see my Fuji x100F has it too. I was tentative at the time of purchase wondering whether I will have problems of the lens hitting the filter in macro mode but no such issues. The build quality is super, it doesn’t add much bulk, clicks on very secure. This one and my camera are going to be lifelong friends. Hope this review helps. Cheers

Bad fit
The adapter does not click into place unlike the Ricoh default one. Yes it is metal and the Ricoh is plastic but what good does it do if it doesn't connect tightly? I would be worried about it falling off especially with the heavier wide angle adapter.

Fit perfect
Looks great on my camera. Don’t have any zoom problems.

Quality built
I had ordered the Ricoh branded one but mistakenly got the iii version and not the iiix. Fortunately for me, when I went to reorder the right one, I chose the JJC version. What a difference in quality and price. Do not waste your money on any other brand....this thing is perfect. Also, plastic on the Ricoh and Aluminum on the JJC. I am happy it worked out this way.

If you're not too concerned about pocketability, it's a good way to protect the extended lens when combined with a filter.

nice accessory for the gr 3 to protect the lens from dust

Exactly as described however this adapter does not have a firm “click” and is constantly falling off at the slightest knock or touch. This is highly annoying if you have purchased an expensive filter or one of the add on lenses. You literally have to hold the adapter on the camera “just in case”. Not worth the savings over the Ricoh version which I’m told has a firm click and won’t fall off. I feel like I wasted my money which is disappointing as JJC is usually a good brand.
