Q: Why is it so expensive?

Well, it's life size, so... Not really. It's huge though. Not really a set designed for kids. 6700+ pieces. Really more of a display piece not intended to be actively played with. Any time you see "UCS" or "Ultimate Collector Series" know the quality will be top notch, but at the expense of A) Your wallet B) Just build it and look at it (I love the snowspeeder, but don't touch it because it WILL shed parts) C) Your wallet (I mention this twice because some of them can be ridiculously expensive like this one)
