Red Top Trap for Flies and Wasps (10 Pieces), 11

This is a fantastic product. Easy to set up and once you have found the right location to place them, they work wonders. They come with a sachet of horrid smelling proteins that you empty into the plastic bag of the trap and then add 1 litre of warm water. Hang it up where you want it to do it's job (we use a single hook bird feeding pole). It takes a little while to start attracting flies. Warmer, dry weather helps as it brings the flies out and increases the potency of the protein mix in the bag. It does give off a very bad smell, so you do not want it right outside your windows or near where you sit in your garden. When full or when you no longer need it, empty the contents onto your compost heap. We dig a hole, pour the contents of the trap in and cover it up to reduce the whiff.

I buy these every year — they work spectacularly well. And here's something I've discovered this year — if you're plagued by wasps, instead of adding the fly attractant powder just mix up about half a jar of cheap jam with two or three cupfuls of warm water, then mash it gently through the mesh with the back of a spoon. You'll soon trap every wasp in the area. It works far, far better than any of the bespoke wasp traps you can buy.

Expensive but worth the money. These are awesome. Unpack, pour in the powder and the water and watch the flies arrive. It takes roughly 3 days before you start to see it working, but once it get's going, we're catching hundreds of flies a day. It work's better in the sunshine, but does smell, so keep it to the end of the garden. Best fly trap we've ever used.

Fabulous for attracting flies - although not horse flies - and smells a bit rank - but then you know it is working - but worth it!

As we live by a remote wood with lots of bracken around we can be inundated with the swarms of flies once the weather warms up. But this spring I hung three traps around the perimeter of the garden and every fly in the area seems to have made straight for them. The bags are all bulging with dead flies and unlike previous years we haven't been bothered one bit so far - which is a very welcome change. So it looks like these will become an essential spring/summer item if they carry on working as effectively as they have over the past month or so.

Ok but nowhere near as effective as other makes I’ve purchased on Amazon. I thought I’d give them a try based on reviews, but not that impressed.

Certainly traps a lot of flies!! After a few weeks in the garden it's full.Not the most pleasant smell if you get close/plan to have a garden party (dispose of and replace either side of entertaining), but it certainly does what it's meant to & helps reduce the amount of flies found in the home. (follow instructions and don't place too close to your home!!!)

Although this item is expensive at least it works ! Not like other very similar fly traps.. I have used Red Top traps for several years with success.. at one time I purchased another similar brand by mistake and it was flimsy and useless for the purpose.

Ho dovuto correggere la mia precedente recensione. Infatti, sebbene per una settimana la trappola sia stata completamente inutile, sembrando un luogo desolato, nel giro di due giorni si è trasformata evidentemente nel luogo più ambito dalle mosche del vicinato, riempiendosi di insetti. Consiglio vivamente

Lo uso porque en donde vivo hay muchas moscas. Son trampas muy selectivas, solo cogen moscas

Queste trappole per mosche ci hanno risolto il problema qui al Podere. L'unica accortezza è quella di appenderle lontane dalle unghie dei gatti che altrimenti ci si divertono un sacco. Le abbiamo appese su un ramo in alto in cui sotto non hanno nulla, altrimenti tutte forateeee!!!

El producto es realmente efectivo, yo no note la disminución de moscas porque al estar abonando con estiércol las parcelas cercanas a la mía , había miles, pero el cacharro se llenó en una semana. Espectacular. Hay que respetar las distancias porque da mal olor y atrae a más moscas. El pero, es que es muy caro , una bolsa de plástico con tapa y unos polvitos no deben costar tanto.
