A whirlwind romance 🔥😍
Being a fan of Monica's books and with my growing love for the Lancasters I had to read this book. Although, I hadn't read Whit's book it didn't effect much with the read. It can be read as a standalone. The whole read was a huge mind fukery. I was tied up in knots trying to anticipate what would happen next. I got more than what I bargained for with this book. There were moments I wanted to yell at some of the characters.Sylvie Lancaster you can love her or hate her but you cannot ignore her. She is the talk of the town even when she tries to remain in the shadows. People might assume her to be a spoilt rich girl with rich people's issues but I did not have a inkling of her problems. There is so much depth to her character and she always hid from the world hiding behind a mask. Expect the mask only slipped in the presence of Spencer Donato. But he is also unaware of the depths of misery Syl had gone through.Spencer and Sylvie had always loved each other and no matter how much hurt or secrets are there in between they cannot deny the attraction nor the need to protect each other. Spence is the knight for Sly protecting her from a young age but even he couldn't protect her from the biggest demon she had to face.I loved how their relationship develops slowly. Some things might seem rushed yet it felt like it was a long time in waiting. Despite everything that happened in the past Spencer's trust on Sylvie after she lets him know the truth and the way he stood by her made me swoon. There chemistry was Scorching hot.I loved how there were people by Sylvie's side after knowing even partial truth when she had been distant with everyone. If I could hate Sylvia anymore I would. No child deserves a parent like her.I could not get enough of the couple and wanted more of them. I hope they make appearances in the future books and we get a glimpse into their future. Thanks to Valentine Promotions and Monica for the advanced copy for a honest review.

Amazing!
On one hand, I wasn't prepared to read Sylvie's story because of the extra mean things she said to Summer but on the other hand, I have a tendency to love mean girls so I couldn't resist reading this book. While Sylvie was portrayed to be mean, she had her own struggles and secrets to deal with. My heart broke when I could feel that she was really so lonely and had no one truly stand up for her even once. Everyone including her own family thought that she was a liar but no one paid enough attention to do some digging to see if what she kept saying was the truth that made me feel so sorry for her. While she may have fooled people she couldn't fool Spencer. He was the only one who truly saw her and just as she said herself he was her safe place. But she had to leave him out of obligation. I felt the connection between them but my only complaint is that, there was no grovelling on Sylvie's part. Spencer just said some hurtful words to her and their relationship just fell back into place. Maybe it was beautiful in it's own way because they were always meant to be. But I wanted Sylvie to be somewhat apologetic because what she did with Spencer left him feeling hurt. But the rest of the book including the cover, the plot and characters was well written and engaging.

It was okay
I really wanted to like the story, the tortured middle child but it felt flat, i couldn't find the chemistry between Spencer and syl and it was more mrs.lancaster and her abnormal relationship with her daughter and Spencer being a side character in his own story. I loved loved whit and summer's story but just could not feel this one.

Relatable!!
So it was a slow start with this book. The deeper I got into it, the more connected I got with Sylvie. She & I had very similar relationships with our moms so believe me when I say this book definitely got some tears out of me. It's truly unfortunate how often some of us girls experience these hardships with our moms. I'm so glad Sylvie was able to overcome her traumas & move forward with life. Also, she & Spencer are sooo stinking cute!! Can't wait to start the next book in the series & become as well acquainted with Carolina & the rest of the Lancaster family!

The story of Sylvie and Spencer is one of heartbeak and angst and so many twists. In the end it is also a story of redemption and true love. Great read.

“You say you love me again and I’m never going to let you go. It doesn’t matter what happens. I’m by
I've been waiting for the Sylvie and Spencer story since Things I Wanted to Say But Never Said because, let's be honest, the scenes he gave us of them made you want to know what was going on..This is a second chance love story where we can get to know the past and present of the couple, something that I really liked is that it is mostly focused on the present and the past serves to get to know them and put us in context, both characters are interesting, no only together but also individually..Silvye is a person who has been through a lot for which she has made the wrong decisions, she is not a perfect protagonist, she makes mistakes and has flaws like everyone else, but she learns from them and it is incredible to read the way she grows and takes charge of her life. life to become the best version of her..On the other hand there is Spencer, he was completely sweet and stubborn when it came to Sylvie, even though she made loving her so hard, he never gave up on her, he was swoon worthy of her.

It was so cool to be inside this world once again!! If you read book one on the series, we all know that Sylvie was kinda the villain in that book, which made me hesitant to read her story. But im glad i gave it a chance to see her redeem her actions. Tbh I pitied her and what she has been thru. She was abused by her own mother and neglected by her family. For that, she was toxic to everyone who was kind to her, which is understandable.Im glad she found Spencer Donato who has always been there for her. The thing is that for years she used him and never took him serious. As the story starts, they reconnect again and they get to have a second chance.Tbh im quite picky when it comes to romance, so this time I didn’t connect with these two as I wanted to. Yes, they deserved to be together, but their romance was quite bland. No emotions at all, which made me just like them, not love them as the previous couples.Just so yk, the story fully evolves about Sylvie and her relationship with her mother, more than the romance itself. The story behind it, is quite original, i just didn’t like the conclusion, it was too rushed.Honestly, I think Monica has better stories worth the read. It was cute, but not perfection to my taste.
