Unlike any other Blue October Album
Buy this album immediately. This Album is unlike any other Blue October Album. If you are a died in Blue fan or a new convert. Give this album the 3 listen test before you give your review. First list in the Car. Every song will want you to roll you windows down and drive. Secondly listen to it in headphones. The recording, production, and arrangements on this album are deep when listening thru headphones. Then finally see Blue October Live. They are almost always on tour here in North America and Europe. I think they may have actually been to every state to play a show.

Blue October Rocks
Another stellar release from a band I've loved for years. I like that they've evolved from sad alt-rock to a more positive pop-rock band while still keeping their vibe intact!

Blue October's music is never a let down .
I love Blue October as musical group. I have been following this group and Justin for years. They are an upcoming group who deserve recognition.

Hurting you the way that I was hurt.
I've been a fan of Blue October since 2006's "Foiled". The band has seen its share of ups and downs, but what is truly remarkable is how they have stayed out of the spotlight all these years. I mean, this is a band that should be up for induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023 (25 years after the release of their 1998 debut, "The Answers"). Yet, they remain inexplicably on the fringes. And yes, I know "Calling You" and "Hate Me" got some radio play (back when radio was still important--what's a radio?)I chose to go back to the beginning and listen to each Blue October album in sequential order prior to writing this review so that my perspective was fresh.I have to say that "Spinning the Truth Around, Pt. 1" is one of the band's finer efforts. I felt 2016's "Home" and especially 2018's "I Hope You're Happy" were lacking overall. "Spinning the Truth Around, Pt. 1" is on par with 2020's "This Is What I Live For". With repeated listening I was able to detect the weak songs here and note the strong ones.Overall, there are 12 tracks and I'd definitely say that 8 of them are solid. For me, the weakest tracks were "How Can You Love Me If You Don't Even Like Me", "Change", "The Kitchen Drawer", and "Trust You"--these tracks should have been quality controlled. They aren't as good as the rest of the tracks. But that's Blue October, isn't it? They've yet to make their masterpiece. That 5 star album. Of the 8 solid tracks my favorites were "Spinning the Truth Around", "The Girl Whole Stole My Heart", "Where Did You Go I'm Less of a Mess These Days", "Don't Say It Wasn't Love" and "Shut Up I Want You to Love Me Back". The band always does 1-2 songs where they try something different and that song here is definitely the 7 minute track, "When Love Isn't Good Enough" with its operatic singing.I give "Spinning the Truth Around, Pt. 1" a four star rating. Here's how "Spinning the Truth Around, Pt. 1" compares to the band's other works:1998 The Answers: Four Stars2000 Consent to Treatment: Four Stars2003 History for Sale: Four and a Half Stars2006 Foiled: Four Stars2009 Approaching Normal: Three Stars2011 Any Man in America: Three and a Half Stars2013 Sway: Four Stars2016 Home: Three and a Half Stars2018 I Hope You’re Happy: Three Stars2020 This is What I Live For: Four Stars2022 Spinning the Truth Around (Part 1): Four Stars
