These are top quality dive torches and I wouldn't use any other lights.

Great value dive torch. sits somewhere mid range. fantastic back up torch for uk diving or fab night dive torch for good viz diving.

I do a lot of diving for lobster during the day and I require a torch that will be bright even in bright ambient sunlight. This torch is fantastic and lights up all the small cracks in the rocks from a good distance, allowing me to cover much more ground much quicker. Tonight I used the torch on my first night dive and it blew all the other torches out of the water - it was like the Blackpool illuminations when it was on - even on the "low" mode. In fact the "low" mode is best at night due to the backscatter of light from the suspended particles in the water when the "High" mode was used. I joked with my friends that this torch was like "the eye of Sauron" at night and it allowed me such a better view of the underwater landscape. On another plus side, it gave brilliant white light which made for excellent underwater lighting for night diving filming - even on a sony cybershot camera. It's expensive, but I got mine from amazon.com and the price was dollars for pounds so it made it a better buy. Taking 8 C cell batteries makes it expensive to run, but diving is not a cheap sport and the batteries should last for a good number of dives. It's still an expensive extra, but it's worth it. If you consider that you mainly dive to see things underwater, then this makes that part of the experience much better. Why spend £1000's on your other dive gear if you can't see a thing because you cheaped out on a good torch? A DEFINITE recommend.

A great light, very bright and lantern grip works well, One point to consider, the light is described as having a Low and High power setting, this just isn't the case and considering it says around 500 and 800 lumens respectively. you would expect to see a difference. I returned the light and had several conversations with the uk importer and they have as good as admitted there is little difference between the settings, they have refunded me some of the money, and I still love the light overall, but it is a single light setting torch, not a twin light setting.
