Third Eschenbach digital magnifier that died
I purchased this magnifier for a relative with advanced vision loss. He is dependent on these products. The first one lasted two years before the battery died. The second lasted a couple years and then the camera stopped working. This last one was purchased in February this year and suddenly died after a few months. I contacted the seller and they informed me that this product is discontinued, which was never stated in the listing, and the manufacturer will not honor the 2 year warranty. For a hefty price, they said I could ship it to the seller and they can test it (for another fee) and if they can’t fix it they can ship it to the manufacturer (for another large fee) which at that point is more than half the cost of the device! I’m beyond frustrated with both the manufacturer and seller. It feels like they’re just taking advantage of people.
