Most books get deep into technical processes without proper context and I’m usually lost by the second chapter. This one made it relatively easy to follow and understand the steps of mining crypto from beginning to end. I like how they took time to cover the risks and criticisms of the process to give a well rounded objective view. I’m still left with some questions, but I know it’s hard for one book to cover everything. Definitely a great foundational tool to have.

I got this book just out of curiosity in the subject matter. I have been hearing of bitcoin mining for a while now but had no clue what it was. So I wanted to learn. This book definitely gave me a good understanding of the subject, with highly detailed discussions of various aspects of mining. It also made me realize that bitcoin mining is extremely complex. While I would not undertake it, this book would be a good starting place for anyone interested in doing so.

Kain's book explained blockchain well enough while providing strategies and advice on setting up a rig. What was most useful to me however was the cost analysis aspect. Overall, the book is pretty thorough and well-written. It built on and reiterated stuff I already knew, but it also filled in some blanks for me.
