1-1/2" Robert Sorby #286 Bevel Edge Framing Chisel

I’m a professional timber framer, and these chisels are definitely a quality tool. They stay sharp and are very well made. Better than some of my other more expensive chisels.

Tough to beat the quality of these Sorby framing chisels (ditto on the registered chisels). They come with very flat backs. Its just a few minutes to tune them up on the 1000 grit diamond stone and then they are sharp and ready to go....a lot easier then recycling older chisels. Edge holds really well thru even doing heavier work. My only complaint is that as shipped they are just in a plastic sleeve with no guard over the chisel edge. In one of my amazon shipments an edge of the blade chipped which meant a regrinding...a cheap plastic guard would help in shipment. You won't regarding buying these.

It could have been sharper when it arrived.
