You NEED This
Pro user here. I own a home services company. This is an amazing tool. For most regular tasks it has ample power. I love the soft start when trigger is pulled and the different drill accessories are incredibly useful. ULTRA quie, too. Easy to change heads for different tasks and small but very solid feeling...not light and plasticy junky feeling. Great for lighter drilling and driving. I have bigger, stronger drills and impact drivers for the heavy duty tasks. My hands are a little arthritic now and this little guy allows me to do more without resting (removed 30 outlet and switch covers for a painting job at twice the speed of normal). I wish it had a better quality case that had moulded areas for each accessory head to keep everything in place, but that is a minor gripe. Just bought a second set for my other business! BUY it. You won't regret it. I may need to buy a 3rd one for my son's tool kit (he's 10). Hope this was helpful!

Legitimate power
Typically 12V tools have been the little sibling to 18V tools. Generally less expensive and having less torque and power. This Bosch 12V drill/driver didn’t disappoint on either. It has plenty of performance to spare. The chameleon kit is one of the most versatile tools I have purchased in decades. What an intelligent concept and useful to boot. One of the greatest features of this kit in my opinion is the offset driver attachment. It enables you to get into spots that you normally can’t reach effectively. The ability to change attachments quickly and easily is a time saver. I can have a drill bit chucked up in the keyless chuck and screw driver bit in one of the driver attachments, eliminating the need to have two tools out. I can just drill a hole for a screw and then change to the driver to drive it in. I think that I can change attachments faster than I could I chuck a bit then chuck back up a driver bit. Plus I don’t have to have another tool in my work area. Lastly is the size of this tool, it’s small size allows you to reach places a larger tool may not. I purchased this with this in mind, along with the thought that it would be lighter and thus easier to manipulate. Don’t get me wrong, this drill driver has heft to it that indicates a great build quality. I haven’t had it long enough to speak to the longevity of it, but Bosch builds some really good tools. We will see if it holds up in long term. Having worked in commercial construction for 3 plus decades you can tell when something is built to last. It’s definitely a keeper and my hopes are to have this in working order for some time to come.

Initial impressions - UPDATED
I've just recently received this kit and only have initial impressions so far. I will update over time. The tool seems well made and surprising heavy for how small it is; it feels like a quality power tool, only very small. There's obviously more metal than plastic inside. The variable speed trigger is linear and allows good speed control throughout the range. You can run the bit very slowly for precise control when needed. I will likely use the tool with hex shank bits most often, and without any adapter. The small adapter with the locking hex collar is unnecessary unless worried about a bit pulling out of the magnetic holder in the bare head. (Maybe when working on a ladder) It's likely strong enough for most hex bit drilling/driving. The adapters connect with a positive, but slightly stiff rotation and click. I can't imagine the adapters coming loose while in use.As others have said, the case is the bare minimum they could provide. It's almost like something they had from another product and decided to include it here too. Marginal, at best.I did notice a couple of quirks: The battery power meter above the trigger has a soft glow that continues for several minutes after the meter is off. It's like an LED is still lit very dimly. It's hard to see in bright light and it does eventually go off. I'm not sure if that's by design or a bug. It's not worth sending back for this since it may be normal. It would be great if someone else could check theirs. Also, the two supplied battery packs slide into the handle with a different feel: one is snug; the other fairly loose. Both lock securely. Again, not a big deal, but a little variation in build quality.I'll update as I use the tool more. I have several corded and 18v Bosch power tools and expect a good experience based on my approx. 10-year history with this brand.UPDATE 6/25:Wow, already 4 1/2 years, and this tool has helped me with so many tasks and projects. It's handled everything from drilling, to driving, to pocket holes, to sharpening my mower blades, small fixes and project builds and has been a great tool. I've had a need to use every head except the right angle. I like the adequate torque for driving fairly large screws and the higher speed for drilling pocket holes. I've experienced zero failures, and the batteries still seem to function very much like new. There was one time when the clutch collar would not rotate past mid-point and I thought there was a problem, but when I blipped the trigger, it again functioned as normal. Apparently, there was some gear or cam that was aligned in an odd spot and rotating the shaft corrected the misalignment. It has never happened again.I'm very much impressed with this little drill/driver chameleon. In fact, I'm thinking of getting a second one just for those times when I'm drilling pilots and driving many screws and have to keep swapping bits. Perhaps that's just an excuse to get another one?? The price has fallen substantially since this was a new tool, so why not. Highly recommended.

A steal for the price
Excellent handy device. Good grip, very compact, light and powerful. The battery is small so it doesn't last a long time however it charges quickly. I bought this with the intention of doing some work around the house and this 100% fulfills that.
