I was struggling with wifi in a certain area of my house. I was advised that this product would do the jod and i must say it is better than i expected. The wifi signal now reaces all the reas of my house that it didnt before and even down to the bottom of my garden.

Truly awsome product
Have been having terrible trouble with an old router ( used as a wireless access point) which just would not work with BBC iplayer. Was fine with everything else but iplayer just did not work. This little beauty fixed it completely. I use it as a wireless access point because I have a big computer setup at home but it seems to be a router as well if you need it.

This product was used as an AP. Very good piece of kit.

Good device, but with caveats.
Technically worked well but did not come with PoE injector, which wasn't clear in the description and many of the web-management features are not available without the pro subscription. I returned the unit and invested in the OpenMesh alternative.

Say goodbye to deadzones.
SETUP======I have to admit it wasn't the easiest. It was me, not the gadget though. Once it was setup, wow it's fast. And once it's up and running I've had no issues at all.GOOD======There are loads of these on the market. Some established names like Netgear, or some new entrants. It does look smarter than many. (However its styling isn't really that important for me.)There's not too much to set it apart from the crowd besides the app you can use to set it up. The app does make it easy and it does run without a hitch.CABLE======You don't get a power cable but it can be set up over POE and you don't need a power cable.PROS======Not too big or clunkysmartincludes mounting bracketPoE support (power via a Power Over Ethernet switch)Firmware upgrade was simpleGood UI for web-based configuration.Long range and superb performanceCONS=====I'd recommend looking at the manual which is available online rather than the enclosed instructions.

No plug
It doesn’t come with a power adapter. What is the point in selling an electronic device without a power adapter? It would not be so bad if it could work off a USB connection but this can’t. On top of that I cannot find the netgear power adapter for UK sockets on Amazon at all!

Would or Could I recommend this for production environments? Yes
Initially this unit came with a very early version firmware, v1.43 (from memory) and it was awfully slow, the interfaces (web) were terribly slow and it refused to update the firmware properly, persevering however, updating to version 3.X of the firmware, and using it with multiple business users over a two month period, and I can say it works brilliantly in that role! Both network signals (2.4ghz and 5ghz) were stable, solid performers, the built in web interface, analytics and monitoring was excellent. The power over-ethernet, yes I'll admit was a bit of a pain in regards initial set up, we don't have a PoE adapter in the department, and had to find one for setup and testing before climbing into the high places to install the unit int it's final location, and though the unit can be powered over a 12v 2.5A barrel connected adapter we wanted to test it via PoE. Interestingly we only had a 0.5A PoE injector to hand, and it worked fine!Ethernet performance, provided there was bandwidth, was excellent, balanced between the users, and solid, we had a high concurrent users of 63, and an average of 42. All doing network based builds (Incredibuild) sharing various folders, Windows Active Directories, Outlook, Linux - Samba, Git & NFS. We were able to saturate the ethernet out of the device, but when not saturated it performed very well.We got a decent coverage of signal too, at over 50 feet we had a good above-half signal, beyond this we had a slow taper down until no signal at over 200 feet, we had no problems when direct line of sight was established, and some users reported still having a connection on mobile devices way out in the car-park. Anecdotal, the signal is good. However, my main focus was the web-management pages, which are unfortunately slow. Comprehensive in their content, with bandwidth reports by client, by intervals, by subnet, and even by the two different wifi bands. Very useful, just absolutely slow, even on the latest firmware. The on phone app, well we're not going to mention much about it - sorry - we were not interested in using it in our production environment, and I personally did not install it on my own device, this was the rub I had in return for access to the tens of users to give this a "business work out", which is passed with flying colours.Would or Could I recommend this for production environments? Yes, I absolutely could, this is a solid quality product, good at it's job, and carrying my confidence in NETGEAR with it, I can live with the slow web-reporting, and as for the mobile app, I was simply not interested in it.
