Works great for adding detail to craft projects

The product itself was super easy to use and turned out great. I put a wood stain and a clear coat gloss over top. The wood stain was fine but then when I put the clear coat over top of them both it smeared some of the burnt pieces and the ashes got all over.

Gel was not easy to use. Instruction very limited. Doesn’t say how long to leave gel on, should it remain “wet” or dry when applying heat?Tried on oak, poplar and pine, could barely see anything, except dots along the edge of gel. Wood stayed yellow and stained wood.Tried on cedar, bleed all over, took a lot of heat to get it to work at all. Almost seems like the wood was about to catch fire.Gel has significant issues with burn time, taking forever to burn and smears easily. Bleeds very badly. Don’t know if other product work any better, and you get what you pay for. Would not recommend gel.

I have tried many wood burning products, and I have to say, this is by far the best. It is easy to apply, it doesn’t bleed through the stencils (like the far more expensive products I have tried) And personally I love the fact it stains the wood Yellow, as it makes it so much easier when burning your project with a heat gun.For those reviewers that say it takes ages to burn, maybe try using a more intense heat gun. I purchased mine off Amazon, for around $20, and within 5 minutes it burns the images cleanly and effortlessly into the wood.I have no complaints with this product whatsoever, and at the current price, you would be crazy not to give it a go.I have around 6 new tubs of the stuff, and will be purchasing more very soon!!
